It's not that they suck. My problem with them, as an independent, is they've positioned themselves as the moral high ground party while in fact they have no moral leg to stand on. Their leadership had a historic moral test when it comes to the Gaza genocide and they failed it. They had another test to put a great candidate to prevent another Trump presidency, but they bowed down to their corporate masters and picked Kamala.

It's that level of fundamentalism and holier than thou attitude that alienates many people like me. They have zero fighting tactics against Republicans besides clutching pearls and shaming. Kamala's website up until the election day had no "agenda section". You can't really tell what her campaign is about. I guess she's perfect enough and shouldn't be questioned, otherwise "racism and sexism".

They need a complete reset and redo of the party and its principles. Until then, I'm a non voter.

Watch the whole 40mins, it was Zelensky who decided to challenge Vance with a "what kind of diplomacy are you talking about" in the last 5 or so minutes, then the blow up happened. Totally rookie move from Z after getting triggered by Trump's lack of negative outlook on Putin.

Zelensky blew it up too soon honestly. The whole asking JD Vance was not disciplined and let his emotions take over. Granted he's got a lot on his plate, but that was a strategic negotiation mistake on his part.

Zelensky brought it into himself honestly. Wtf was he thinking discussing security guarantees too early in public? I'm glad he was humiliated.

You'll never be able to migrate the IG influencer whose affiliate marketing business relies on the algorithm, or the Titkok million views dude who makes money off their views and lives. So I really don't understand this argument of "Oh we're alienating mass users".

Just like there's non-profit orgs vs businesses, open source software vs commerical ones, there also fediverse vs commercial social media. I prefer it here, and to each their own.

And they don't have to join. I really don't mean this in a dismissive way and respect their opinion. But why all this worrying about the need to have the fediverse dominate all social media? Maybe it's meant to be this way: your vibe decides your tribe. My vibe isn't commercial, toxic political talk, or influencers, thus my tribe is the fediverse instead of IG or Tiktok.

I use Eternity on android and it's a fantastic and much cleaner feel than reddit.

I love this! Totally agree, and you know what? I don't need to give you an "award" and enrich the site owners with unnecessary money waste. I hope it never changes too. Quality over quantity.
