Yeah, I've had similar experiences when requesting account deletions for services. Basically "we are under no legal mandate to delete your data, get bent", because I'm not lucky enough to be protected by GDPR or California law.
I built a M3 MBP just to see how much money a mxed out unit would be.
M3 14" MBP
Max chip with all the cores
128GB RAM
8TB storage
$4700
That's about the cost of my last MBP and iPhone pair, two times over. At that point, why even go for a laptop, vs. what would clearly be a high end desktop station?
Lol, bold of you to assume even half a dozen Republicans would side with Democrats, let alone 1-2 dozen.
To answer your question, they've already nominated Jeffries. That won't get a floor vote without Republican support, and no Republican wants to appear weak. I also think they want this deadlock to continue so there actually is a shut down.
When they add the "pull hammer back on gun" sound effect and the character is holding a gun with no hammer (like a Glock). I first noticed this in one of the Fast and Furious movies, and I haven't been able to watch any of them since.
I feel like this is for publicity, there were no death threats, and they want to feel like they are doing the country a great service by voting no on his nomination. I mean, they are, technically, but that bar is so low it's nearly resting on the ground already.
Won't cost them anything near weeks of dev time. They can just write it into their terms of service and prompt you to re-accept those next time you access the site.
I'll likely retire before my parents, aunts and uncles. I won't tell them, I"ll just stop working and if they ask, I will say I'm an investment manager. Boomers and Gen X were shit with their finances, I guess.
