  • My vote is for Bambu printers. I started with a super cheap Ender 3 V2 in 2020 and recently we got a Bambu X1 at work and it's so much easier, faster, and better. No more hours of troubleshooting issues, it just calibrates itself and goes.

The P1P is cheaper and might be a good option to look at. These printers are highly recommended on the reddit community too.

  • It's not that the US economy is better than others, it is just trusted to be the default place for people to invest their excess money which has resulted in most of the US stock market being overvalued compared to the rest of the world.

"U.S. stocks' outperformance on average over the past half-century or so has simply been due to increasing price multiples, not an improvement in business fundamentals. That is, U.S. companies did not generate more profit than international companies; their stocks just got more expensive. [...] Cheap stocks have greater expected returns and expensive stocks have lower expected returns."

  • Does Technology Connections sell shirts? In most of his recent videos he has worn a black shirt with zoomed in RGB pixels from a digital display and I've been looking for it everywhere because I work in a related industry.

  • Side question: Should't it also be illegal for Hallie Biden to dispose of an illegal firearm by putting it in a trash can outside a grocery store for a random person to find? That seems like a very irresponsible way to handle a firearm and evidence.

  • Cultural smells are interesting. In Japan, they find the strong scents of perfume, cologne, and even shampoo that westerners wear to be intolerable and people at restaurants will discreetly ask to change tables to move away from those wearing it. They are more sensitive to fragrances there while Americans have fragrance in almost everything.

Of course, the most respectful thing to do when traveling is to just take a shower and wear a neutral deodorant so that you're not giving off any unique smells.

This situation sure sounds like it blew up into a racist power trip though.

  • No, that is a common misconception. Most (~85%) companies in China are completely private and just pay taxes. Most of the super large companies (like fortune 500) are partially or completely state owned though. They have embraced aspects of capitalism the last decade, but with checks to ensure that huge corporations don't control society like in the US.

  • No problem! When I was picking out which search engines or "plugins" to install, I visited most of the sites on the list and chose the ones I had heard of plus some other ones that looked like they were for English content. Some of the sites were clearly for other languages or for niches like anime, so just pick out whichever ones are relevant to your interests and then you'll be able to search all of their databases instantly without dealing with their terrible websites and just get the magnet link.

  • Check out TrackerControl on the F-Droid app store. It lets you block Internet access to individual apps and selectively block trackers and other analytics. It does this by acting as a VPN in the android OS so it won't work while on another VPN but that's good enough for my needs.
