  • Woman is a word. Usually it's more questionable when someone says man and female. It makes women sound less than by making it more sterile and similar to specimens. It really depends on context. Female is language, but it's usage could easily make it incel language. Context is key. Not a fan of calling out an action with zero context whatsoever like the above post.

  • It's text on a background. If you can't manage that on your own and share it instead, maybe try not criticizing others prior to asking for favors or favours since you seem to lean that way on your spelling. The post likely helps more than your whining at the very least. Plus your comments are filled with poor grammar. Not sure why you're feeling secure in your throwing stones while living in that glass house.

  • The way he acted after he "angrily puts hand" on her is a lot more noteworthy to me. Like, without context it's hard to be sure. The hand thing first seems like a "I understand what you're saying" or a "I understand how you could think that way" and doesn't actually seem angry to me and on it's own is a bit of a nothing story. But the follow up? That's is definitely not appropriate behavior and intimidatingly forcing her back like that seems uncalled for. It also seems very fast? So I don't know if something happened to him before this? Not to say it excuses it, but there's a difference between someone who is displaying default behavior or someone who has just had a really awful day and doesn't normally act like this.

  • I mean, if you want to get technical, none of them have any blocking really. Blocking on any fediverse is generally just the equivalent of muting/hiding.

Wasn't aware of the bug though (as I haven't tried the feature yet, but probably wouldn't have a way to notice anyway).

  • Not to pick sides, but I've literally never heard that before. I've always seen Main used the same as a General channel. That being said, if it's truly important, just create an account on Kbin for awhile until Lemmy has the same blocking capabilities.

  • Defederating is core to the fediverse. Lemmy just uses a shared protocol to exchange content. And as others have said, Kbin has instancr blocking, community/magazine blocking, and user blocking. You could just create an account on a Kbin instance if it's important enough. You still get to see the same things.

  • Looking into it, aren't both of these only Mastodon and not part of ActivityPub itself? I can't find details on them outside of Mastodon.

And what prevents the post from getting published to other instances from different sources?

  • You realize that's how most privacy policies word their collecting, right? Microsoft may collect data from Windows. Google may collect the sites you visit. Etc etc etc. "May" is used because they may not collect it in every instance. But it definitely means sometimes they do. There's no purpose to open up legal liability unless necessary.

  • I mean, just because you don't follow gaming news doesn't mean nothing happens in the gaming industry. And if you somehow didn't hear about this game that folks have been talking about for months as an extremely anticipated game, you clearly don't follow gaming news that closely.

  • Could just be a new person who wants to make a good impression and came across it recently for the exact reason you provided. No need to get conspiratorial about it. Dunno if you're suggesting the film would hire someone to do this or what, but feel like it's a bit more likely it's just innocuous.
