I did "Friend Like Me" for karaoke with coworkers. It took quite a bit of practice, but I got most of it.
Speaking of friends, I had dinner with a friend I haven't seen since high school. They hadn't had falafel before so I made falafel, hummus, muhammara, and tzatziki. Those are two achievements: rekindling a past friendship and honing my hosting abilities.
If anything, the PSL is a front for Russia, given that Russia has featured them on Russian state media. But I don't see them as being a threat to the Democrats. A quick look at their Wikipedia page shows that the most percentage votes they ever got in an election was 40%, and that was just 57 votes in a college town.
It's a pity the US doesn't have a parliamentary system. It would make so much more sense to have something like Greens, Socialists, and Democrats forming a coalition.
When this copypasta was first put together, this may have been more true. GNU was a big project, Linux was just starting out. But Linux has grown to be much larger than GNU. 30+ million SLOC from one estimate. GNU can't get naming rights with some shell utilities and libraries that can be replaced. Why not add Systemd in the name? That seems pretty important. Or we can just stick to calling it Linux, because that's not a mouthful and sounds nice.
I am about to see a friend who just left their church after going through a self-discovery process and realizing that they are LGBTQ. Some form that uses they/them pronouns, they haven't elaborated. We haven't seen each other since high school, something like twenty years ago. I suspect a large part of it was hostility towards their identity, but we'll see if they bring it up.
I remember being on the hiring committee for my new manager. One of the two finalist candidates took several times longer than necessary to answer the questions without adding substance. When we met to discuss our decision, most committee members tried to voice more substantive reasons. Finally someone just cut the shit and said something like "it sounds like no one wants to listen to him talk." So yes, yammering is an excellent people repellent.
Is that actually inconsistent with ISIS tactics? They've been fighting Russia in Syria. Suicide attacks may just not be in vogue with how they fight. I'm not talking from experience, just questioning your assumption that past patterns still hold.
Dudley's actor, Harry Melling, also got a fair bit more attractive. Maybe not as much as Matthew Lewis (Neville), but I've seen him in a couple of other roles where the makeup department isn't actively sabotaging his appearance.
This happens sometimes in my own writing when I'm revising quickly. Of course I don't have an editor and I'm just commenting on Lemmy and Reddit, but same idea. First I write it using one phrase, then I revise it to another phrase while leaving behind a trace of the removed phrase. The final sentence might check out grammatically but not logically, so a simple grammar checker could miss it.
