Depends on how it's presented. If it's tied to strict quotas in terms of hiring then that can cause a lot of issues as well.

Yeah, going from "Google Play Music" to "YouTube Music" was such a downgrade. Shit like Bluetooth had more issues with YTM, and they completely eliminated the ability to purchase music. It sucks and there are still no good alternatives on Android :-(

As a broad statement it's dumb, but depending on the city addiction can be a major contribution to the cycle of "homelessness", especially the more visible populations who have reached peak "fuck it" and have no more cares for societal values or laws.. Even if 25% of them are kids, yeah some of those may be hooked on drugs at an early age or be affected by parental/guardian drug abuse.

But ok then... he's still a billionaire who could definitely spare a good portion of his wealth to improve both situations (homelessness and addiction) but would rather just leverage it to make more and more wealth while pushing policies that actually make life for the average person worse.

At the same time, homelessness and addiction are very much NOT just a throw-money-at-it problem and fucking both would require systemic change over time.

For Elon socially, how much of his wealth is liquid enough to make a difference I don't know, but I haven't really heard of him doing ANYTHING particularly altruistic with his money and Id say the changes/logistics required to make this world a better place are probably still a lot more feasible than building a colony on fucking Mars....

Yeah. Calling something a sale at a price that's not actually discounted under the regular price (with some caveats on how long it needs to be at said regular price), then yeah it's a violation of the act. Basically false advertising.

Bumping up the regular price to cover what you'd have otherwise saved on tax is dickish but not against any regulations AFAIK

Raising prices then advertising a "sale" at the same/higher price IS actually against the law though. Unfortunately we have terrible enforcement of these laws but they do exist:

DOS5 here, installed from 5.25" floppies on a tiny HDD and looking at one of those awful shades-of-yellow monitors.

That's if you don't count the computer that didn't have a hard drive and ONLY booted from 3.5" floppy (which was just enough to get a bootable DOS disk and Prince of Persia).

Some are useful. It's not uncommon for scammers to throw up copies of legitimate sites, but hosting malware etc. Having tried to deal with Google, GoDaddy-et-al I can attest that their fucks given about such things is minimal but one of these companies can get offending sites taken down pretty quick.

The problem is when they don't do due-diligence (and don't face reasonable consequences for failing in said diligence) and then shit like this happens

Ah yes, the "outrage clickbait" that is a known issue and has been the subject of numerous studies by government and reputable institutions both pre and post pandemic.

Guess we should send the border services agency a memo that it's probably only a hundred people and they should remove it from the things they literally screen for, because some Internet genius is sure it's nothing to worry about...
