My dude. Things cost money. That's a basic fact of life. A rec league needs to rent space to play in. You need gear to play. If those facts taint the activity for you I'm not sure how you can even handle the horrific crassness of paying for a place to live. You should probably live in a hovel the woods. One that you didn't pay for.
I have to say that, in spite of surely well earned the reputation furries have for being nice people, that is one of the weirdest suggestions I've ever heard.
Substitute furries for any other sexual endeavor.
Look up BDSM groups around you. No, you don’t have to be a dom/sub to go to one.
Look up gender transition groups around you. No, you don’t have to be trans to go to one.
Compare it to some other public space and see how ludicrous it sounds:
You’d go to the bar to see friends? I don’t even know if I’m being sarcastic.
You’d go to the coffee shop to see friends? I don’t even know if I’m being sarcastic.
See? You're used to people doing those things so it sounds normal, but exercising with your friends is just as normal as drinking with your friends.
People do all sorts of things with their friends, but the reasons they do them invariably include "I like spending time with my friends." Hell, I help my friends do home improvement projects because it's just nice to do something productive with my friends. I'm certainly not going to install a new door on a friend's house if they're going to be away at work, so clearly the real reason is that I like spending time with my friends.
I'm not sure what your point is. Union leaders are elected by union members to represent them as… a union. Of course press releases are written by the leaders. They're the leaders. That's part of the job. The fact that not everyone in the union agrees with the path the leaders have decided to take is neither surprising nor an invalidation of their leadership.
I started watching Scavengers Reign recently on a suggestion from a friend. I normally don't go for animated shows, but this one is really enjoyable for me. Calm & explorative.
If my choices are a z-wave/zigbee thermostat that connects to my HomeAssistant instance and a Raspberry Pi that I have to maintain, I'll pick the z-wave one (and I did, 10 years ago. It's been rock solid.)
For my smart devices I prefer devices that can't send information over the internet no matter what. I don't want to worry about my thermostat mining bitcoin for some dude in China.
Biden left the three people Trump wanted to pardon on the list so he could be the good guy for all the Nazis out there. It’s a Christmas gift in the spirit of bipartisanship
The ones that support HomeKit do record to the cloud, but it's at least encrypted. There's failure points, so it's not a fool-proof system, but it's considerably better system than most cloud camera systems that will joyfully hand over your videos to the police without a warrant or store it in some S3 bucket that doesn't even have user level access controls.
I've seen some witty remarks from him over the years. One of my favorites was when Republicans wanted to make it illegal to burn THE FLAG (gasp). Schumer was quoted something like: "I wish these people cared as much about what the symbol represents as much as the symbol itself."
I have almost no opinions on specific fonts. Except… I absolutely despise the $ and ¢ symbols in Apple's San Francisco font. Since it's the default font I have to look at it a lot.
The problem with him is that he doesn't uphold his agreements. Combine that with him thinking that the President is King and the US is an extension of himself means that you can no longer trust the US to uphold its agreements. So, no we are no longer allies in any way that you can count on. I'd suggest that Canada pay lip service to the "allies" bit, but not count on it in any way.
People who were 10 when Self Esteem came out probably think that, yeah.
