Your definition is the stricter answer yes. Not getting paid overtime when you are legally suppose to, and penalizing people for taking PTO are too. The rest are a stretch that imo waters down the major ones.

Amazon is practically a case study on your last point. They routinely copy competitors products that use their platform to sell, taking most of the profits for themselves and sometimes putting those others out of business. I don’t see that as a good thing, it’s anticompetitive and eventually the big business just squeezes for more profit.

The truth is more interesting than the headline

Patents don’t let you own an idea. They give you an exclusive right to use the idea for a limited time in exchange for detailed documentation on how your idea works. Once the patent expires everyone can use it. But while it’s under patent anyone can look up the full documentation and learn from it. Without this, big business could reverse engineer the little guys invention and just steal it.

I found several form or reddit posts indicating there was so setting. I kind abandoned the whole thing once I found several pieces of software are no longer releasing deb files and are using some kind of flatpack that wasn't working. The Internet Archive has no ground to stand on at all. It would be one thing if they only allowed downloading of orphaned or unavailable works, but that’s not the case.

A ton of people need to read some basic background on how copyright, trademark, and patents protect people. Having none of those things would be horrible for modern society. Wiping out millions of jobs, medical advancements, and putting control into the hands of companies who can steal and strongarm the best. If you want to live in a world run by Mafia style big business then sure.

These are click bait bad, not well read into bad. “Cheap Chinese labor” is not inherently bad unless you’re for isolationism. Apple, nor any western company is directly responsible for suicides. Jobs at Foxconn were considered one of the better ones relative to the rest of the country, and workers live on site in dorms u like what you’d find in the west. The suicide rate was lower than all 50 US states. Apple only slowed down phones whose batteries were degraded so much that they couldn’t handle the power draw. The alternative was having the phone crash and reboot. They screwed up by not announcing it clearer.

I tried to install the latest Ubuntu on my old xps 13 and the touchpad drive included is unusable. It’s way way too sensitive, and there is no settings to change it. You have to completely replace it with something else apparently.

I’m not following your point at all here. I’d you give just me extra money, I can probably buy a house. I’d you give everyone more money then I’m back to bidding against everyone else and the cost of housing just rises. We don’t have enough housing in many areas of the country.
