  • Chick-fil-a does this to me via online / abead orders but does let me use a credit card if I’m doing it in store. I assume Starbucks is the same.

  • Giving everyone more money will not fix the price of housing, It’ll do the opposite.

  • What do American police handle that European police do not?

  • It's also literally true that you risk choking to death every time you eat, but I wouldn't advocate stopping.

  • It's the Vitamins of Medical Practices. There's no proof it works, but if you feel like it does, you do you.

  • I feel like people gloss over clinical trials and how difficult it is to get from Drug Company has a drug to doctor prescribes it. Nothing is full proof, but the Process is quite involved, even the emergency use provision that was used during Covid.

  • for not promoting natural immunity

You mean letting everyone get it and let the weak die, so only the strong survive?

  • I used to watch his show because it was live and guests seemed to have a little more freedom to say things than on other programs. I phased out of it around 2015 due to exhaustion of politics, but Maher has always been an asshole. I agree with him on Religion for the most part, but he's mean about it a lot. His Anti-vax views are stupid because he's worried about a small chance of a side effect and not a large chance of the main effect of getting the illness the vaccine stops.

  • Yes that’s completely ridiculous. You’re helping their small business by shopping there in the first place.

  • I remember getting them before the lights went down, and then the typical coca-cola and popcorn ones. Can’t recall any car ads but I don’t doubt it. I have a nice TV so I don’t go very often.

  • I’m challenging the idea that it’s the outrage making him the money. Netflix signed him before most of it. People buying tickets just to own the libs pale in comparison. Basically I don’t think it matters much how much we say, ergo I’d rather he be constantly called out for being transphobic than let it become normal to be transphobic. Actually I’d rather him make a Billion Dollars than transphobia become normal and acceptable, so maybe we just have different root goals.

  • I was speaking for Americans. Companies like Door Dash are practically experiments in avoiding labor laws .

  • What does this have to do with anything? He’s punching down, he’s not used to there being an unrelated group at the same level as a group he belongs too. The only comparison is the general level that he’s not punching up. That’s it.

  • Is there a rating system for customers?

  • This. They are predatory to their drivers, their customers, and the restaurants they almost blackmail into using them. Awful awful company.

  • It’s worse. They aren’t employees. They are independent contractors who in many cases assume all liability and have to pay their own payroll taxes. Most aren’t reporting it to their insurance company, much less thinking about retirement and healthcare. It only really works as a temporary side gig.

  • Personally I tip 20% or more at most Restaurants. I draw the line at tipping before service as well. They aren’t even pretending anymore that it’s about service.

That said, I don’t use any Gig economy service; I don’t believe in their business models at all, and part of what you are saying is why. Workers shouldn’t be taking on the burden, companies should.

I do tip at some pre-service places that I’m a regular at, but I’ve run into some pretty ridiculous stores asking for tips where nothing warrants it. I try to be fair, but it is getting ridiculous.

  • Trailers shouldn’t be lumped in with ads for Products imo. Trailers before movies have existed forever. Getting interrupted by an ad for Honda is annoying.

  • Netflix is platforming it. Internet comments are a drop in the bucket in comparison.
