  • It's mostly just a cars subreddit thing. In big subs like r/cars Nissan cars are a popular target to hate on, because of their tryst with unreliable CVT transmissions in the past plus Nissan's dependence of subprime lending in the US.

  • *Why American Teen Hate Android Phones

Also I'm very glad how Lemmy is a lot less US defaultism than Reddit is. It's pretty tiring having to constantly hear about Democrats vs Republicans, or green bubbles, or Nissan cars bad, you get the point.

  • Price and durability. I don't know, I can maybe get one eventually if I really want to, but shelling out like ~$1500 USD for a unproven screen design is pretty yikes to me. Plus, since my LG V60 is still serving me so well I really see no good reason to replace it.

  • As long as Lemmy doesn't turn into another escape for CP/Nazi's/random shit groups.

That's quite the irony since there are Lemmy communities that originate from subreddits that actually got banned on Reddit, for being too toxic even by Reddit mod's standards.

Like that recent drama about lemmy.world defederating from a hardcore communist instance.

  • I believe if there's one community that will take forever (if at all) to move to the fediverse, it's the manga/anime community.

Subs like r/anime and r/OshiNoKo are as active as ever - especially during r/Place, pay attention and you'll see a lot of anime mascots in the canvas back when it was around. Anime/mangas also tend to attract the younger crowd which tend not to care about the protest anyways, from what I've seen.

  • Quite mixed on the idea of foldable phones.

On one hand, they're pretty cool and I especially the Z Flip/razr format for its nod to the flip phone era and the portability.

On the other, their durability is er...questionable and there's no telling if the screen will last as long as that of traditional smartphone's. Oh and plastic screen means scratch galore, too.

Also good idea with these post mods, I see a lot of high quality comment here! It's starting to feel like the Reddit of old times here, well without the toxicity I suppose.
