  • And then you have people like Brad Pitt, Jennifer Aniston, and Kate Beckinsale who look like they haven't aged a day in decades. It's hard to believe that Brad is like 61 and still looks about 35.

I follow Kate on Instagram (highly recommended) and she's over 50 (IIRC) and still looks like she's in her late 20s. I'm convinced that she's actually a vampire and Underworld was an autobiography.

  • Absolutely. People love to point to some societal issue, but the sad truth is that some people are psychopaths/have personality disorders and this is just what they do.

A few years back, about a half hour away from my hometown in NJ two teenage kids offered to help a young teenage girl fix her bike. They did, and then wanted payment, which she apparently refused. They killed her and threw her body in a dumpster and took her bike like nothing had happened. It was just a normal day for them.

  • It's probably slightly more difficult for them to make, compared to pressed pills, also marketing is at play and they are trying to make you think it's worth the increase, but it's definitely not. I'm in the US as well, and the prices are definitely ridiculous. Apparently Tylenol Liquid Gels are a relatively new thing (I swore they had been out for like a decade) and I remember seeing a bottle like 6 months ago that was $27 for like 30 pills! A regular bottle of solid Tylenol was like $15 for 65 pills. Who in their right mind would opt for the Liquid Gels?

  • "if you're unhappy about having your face scanned, opt out and make a painful process even more painful!"

I get what they're saying, but sometimes it just isn't with the effort. I moved 1300 miles away from my family (single, no kids) so I fly pretty frequently now. I can get through Fort Lauderdale airport, which is pretty big in ten minutes from the curb to my gate....and that's with like 50-100 people in line with me.

I'm also a 38 year old white guy so it's a US citizen with no criminal record, so that makes it easier compared to someone that looks Middle Eastern. My friends are Italian-American, but look Middle Eastern and have definitely been "randomly selected" before though.

  • What I was getting at was people with no grip on reality shouldn't be allowed to vote on who runs the country. Of course, doing that is just as hard as the other social/moral issues we have.

  • Yep, mods can quickly turn into "small town local cops" that think they can do anything they want. It's quite ridiculous when you bring up an issue/question a ban you got (I haven't had any issues here yet, I'm referring to Reddit in this case) and the mod essentially says "fuck off" and blocks you.

I literally said on Reddit "as a guy, I appreciate the change" on a comment about a woman saying she switched from jeans to yoga pants as her daily wear, but since it was a woman centric sub, they all jumped in my shit and massively downvoted me, then I got a 1 day ban on top of that. When I questioned the mod about the ban and said it was a "tongue-in-cheek joke and didn't think anyone would take it so seriously" she (presumably) responded "Not it wasn't a joke! You were being a creep in a woman centric sub! Bye!" and muted me for a month, which meant I couldn't respond to her. I could see if I was being a red-pill misogynistic asshole, but instead I got banned for saying I like how a woman looks in yoga pants. Imagine being a woman and getting banned for saying you like looking at a muscly dude's arms in a tank top vs long sleeves. It's pretty damn ridiculous.

  • I was referring to their former and current selves, which is the reason I used both names. Would you refer to Bruce as Kaitlyn? How is that any less fucked up? Am I supposed to beat around the bush and say "when Kaitlyn was a man" just so I don't anger the transgender community for daring to use their former name?

Also, stop assuming you think you know what I care about, that just makes you look like an asshole. I was hanging out with multiple people for hours last night that are members of the LGBTQIA+ community...so kindly shut the fuck up 😉

  • Sure, I did something "wrong" intentionally (with ZERO malice intended), I just think it's ridiculous (and actually kinda funny) how angry people got over it. It's not like I completely denied their "status" (or whatever) as the opposite gender. I included both names (referring to their former and current selves) because their former gender and current gender are two different identities, correct? You wouldn't refer to Kaitlyn's former self as Kaitlyn, would you? She was Bruce when she was a male, so how is that "wrong"? It was like I collectively punched everyone in the metaphorical balls just because they saw a name. It's like we're living in the Harry Potter universe and I said "Voldemort".

I'm accepting of everyone, I was hanging out with a non-binary guy, a queer girl, and another guy, whom I believe was transgender last night for multiple hours. Yet, people read so far into stuff that they assume that you're on the extreme opposite side of them all because I decided to use the former names of two celebrities when comparing how they looked as their former selves and their current selves.

It seems that (some) people that are members of the "other" (I'm sure I'll get hate for that as well!) communities outside of Lesbian/Gay/Bisexual community are some the angriest people, I've seen it mentioned multiple times from people that are part of the LGB community that there is a rift between them and even they find it quite ridiculous. It's like the people on the TQIA+ are on the extreme opposite side of the "anti" side, you fuck up and they want to crucify you and deem you as being hateful.

I was also only banned for a day because of that entire conversation, the permaban was because I said "As a guy I appreciate the change" when a woman said she switched from jeans to yoga pants as her daily wear (in a completely different post) 🤣 You can't even make an "out of line" comment without enraging the powers that be apparently! Imagine being a woman and saying "as a woman, I appreciate the change" when a muscle bound guy said he switched from wearing loose T-shirts to tight t-shirts that show off his muscles. It's fucking ridiculous.
