  • Yeah, that's probably why. I'm 38 and racism has always been prevalent here. If anything, I'd say it was worse when Obama was president because all the racists/White Supremacists didn't want a black guy running the country since it has been white guys since the 1700s.

  • I stopped actively using it in about 2015 and every time I happen to go on it (like once every 3 years because, like a lot of people, it's how I communicate with family members I don't see often) it's like uncovering and diving into a cesspool.

  • Social media in general is full of people that want to rage or exert control over someone else. I had two of my comments here on Lemmy (not sure what server) under the News community for "Victim Blaming" and "Victim Shaming" for saying that people need to take responsibility for their actions occasionally instead of constantly blaming it on the other party.

  • So, they're giving it the Skyrim treatment. I think it's received about 10 version updates since AE launched like 2 years ago. I ended up downloading a modlist that was 1.5.97 (the original version of Skyrim SE) and ended up sticking with it since it's future proofed.

  • I knew this was gonna be massively down voted but you can't place 100% of the blame on the famous people. Don't put yourself in a bad situation if you don't want something bad to possibly happen. It's like walking through a bad neighborhood at night wearing expensive clothes and jewelry, and flashing wads of cash. Then some robs you at gunpoint and beats the shit out of you, then you complain that you did nothing wrong and it was the robbers fault, which is entirely true, but if you didn't wanna possibly be robbed you shouldn't have put yourself in that position in the first place. It's like no one takes responsibility for their actions anymore, it's always the other person's fault.

"I should be allowed to walk around with gold chains and rings all over, wearing a $5,000 suit counting hundred dollar bills in Camden, NJ at 3 AM without the fear of getting attacked!"

There's always going to be shitty people in the world.

  • a little-known micro-cap stock called Long Island Iced Tea Corp. (LTEA) said Thursday that it’s now “Long Blockchain Corp.,” and its stock leaped more than 200 percent at the open of trading. Shares closed up 183 percent.

    🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️

This is like my friend who "invested" in Doggy (not Doge) coin "because it was going to explode and become highly valuable" even though it was only worth like .1% of what Doge was worth like two years back..... He's a teacher.

Or my other friend that invested thousands in Etherium like 2 years back, while knowing basically nothing about "The Etherium Network", or anything crypto related. He just knew that he could potentially make money off of it like he could with stocks. I asked him like a year later if he ever made anything off of it and he said "not really", and said he had reinvested the money into other things (I forget which, it wasn't crypto related) 🤣
