  • Man, I remember using this app and checking too many boxes and then it borked my system so bad that I had to reinstall.

  • Gnome is getting prettier by the day, I'm worried that, one day, it'll make me cheat on KDE Plasma.

  • When you're a dad, you have no choice but answer questions all damn day long.

  • Well, I'll be damned then. I've learned something new today.

  • So, I can use sudo rpm install.... instead of sudo dnf/yum install....?

  • Good ole xda site. Haven't messed with it for a long, long time. It is a good writeup, I enjoyed reading it, but why does the writer list RPM as a package manager? Isn't it a package format, or am I crazy?

  • Genuine question, is enaulating older systems, with ROMs/ISOs you get off the Internet, considered piracy? No current systems, only older ones. Newest one is PS3. Is this piracy?

Edit: ok, thank you, everyone. I emulate very old games because it's a nostalgia thing. Games I played when I was very young and I wanted to play them again. I don't emulate anything new as I have a huge collection of physical copies of games I played on newer systems like the PS4.

  • If you're running Linux, you'd understand why so many people are excited about that one feature. I sure am very excited. PDF editors on Linux (as far as I know) suck on Linux.

  • Nice. Now, I have a couple of options to look at. Thank you.

  • Oh nice. I'm going to look into it more. I have invested so much damn time into my current setup and I don't want to just migrate. So many apps and games are set up the way I want them. Not a distro-hopper here and you get the picture.

  • No way. It's arch based?

  • You're not alone. I never use them. Too much storage. Too much fiddling to make them have the same theme as the system. AUR has everything I need.

  • They keep looking for trouble. Something is going to bite them in the ass one day.

  • Immutables are an amazing idea. I just wish Arch (EndeavourOS) had it.

  • I don't think this is Lenovo specific. I've used for a dell and an hp laptop. This is just "how to find the serial number for your machine on Linux"

  • Truly, truly appreciate it. The healthcare spending is vague to me. Where is the money going given how shit our healthcare system is (if we can even call it that. It's just a fucking giant money grab for the shareholders). Where does the money go where we have shit like this. You see, shit like in this video makes my fucking blood boil. I've sworn not to watch shit like this because I get into a spiral of depression and I'd start bottling up so much hate for humanity, but this video popped up in my feed and I watched it. I shouldn't have. Again, I approve appreciate the info.

  • Where is that 87% being spent? I'm genuinely curious? The country is literally turning into a 3rd world shithole. People struggle left and right. 70%+ of Americans live paycheck to paycheck. Healthcare system is a joke. School system is a worse joke. Infrastructure is shit. Homelessness is rampant. Where is the spending? I'm confused. Not trying to argue here, just genuinely looking for answers.

  • Have you looked at the defense budget by any chance? Have you seen the $880 billion with a big fat "B"? That's almost a trillion a year. A billion is one thousand million. A trillion is one thousand billion. The defense budget is almost one thousand billion. Do you know how imaginary this number is? And it only costs $79Billion a year(1% of the defense budget lol) to provide free education for our people so we can have a more educated society.
