Much respect to your parents and you. Raising kids has been the most difficult thing I've done in my life, and I've been deployed into war zones twice.
It is a sad reality that I hate even thinking about. I love these little bastards to pieces, but the money thing is killing me. I'm in a spot where I'm "too rich" to qualify for any government help and too poor to be able to afford it on my own.
Having kids. I love my kids, but if I could go back and not have them I absolutely would. Never have kids until you're financially comfortable. Fuck, the struggle is fucking real.
Just use a rolling release distro and call it a day. You have Arch if you want to get your hands dirty. Or you can run endeavorOS which is almost Arch. You have suse tumbleweed. I have been running endeavourOS for close to two years now and I love it.
Kde is my daily driver. Has been for 6 years now. I try gnome here and there just to see how it's progressing. It sucked badly on a 14" laptop with 1440 screen I have. So glad scaling is fixed now
I have JUST built a PC last week and it cost me exactly $645
Here is what it has, thought:
An 8 cores/16 threads AMD Ryzen 7 5700G with internal Radeon 8 graphics
AMD RX 580 graphics card. Older but still has 8 GB vram and it is 256bit and performes amazing
16GB of DDR4 3200 RAM
512GB nvme WD 770
1TB blue WD 2.5" SATA SSD
I mean....
Switched to this Exec=steam -forcedesktopscaling 2 %U and it still didn't work. Changed a couple of things there and still nothing. Damn, this is so annoying. Guess I will need to just do it through the terminal and call it a day
That's basically the biggest lie/bullshit you can ever hear. You can always be ready for kids. I just need $75+k a year and I'll be more than happy.
