  • No, Bezos is just saying opinion writers should only publish articles supporting free markets and uncritical of fascist dystopian reality we're entering. A huge leap to say he would put money before ethics and throw a minority group under the bus if it helped his personal profits or company.

  • It's not just sk and Japan, China is now incentivizing women and families with improved social programs and economics, along with propaganda because they have the same problem the rest of the industrialized world does--no one can afford to have kids and many are miserable in capitalist or dictatorial hellholes. Southern Europe, has some of the lowest birthrates in the world, Italy, Spain but they have had some immigration (which largely also has been accompanied by racism and move to the right).

The US is seriously throwing away its incredible competitive advantage in that people were still moving here. When that stops, our actual population will go into decline which will destroy our economy(or what's left of it) and everything will be a firestorm faster--and instead of the 🥕 approach of course the facts will take the stick and tell Americans to work until they die and kill social security.

  • They will sell it to the highest bidder, likely foreign. That is the whole point of the "sovereign wealth fund". Trump and the Uber wealthy see it as an asset to plunder, who cares if Bahrain owns Yellowstone or you have to pay Bezos to fly over the Amazon Canyon? The future is amazing!

  • Just wait until the "sovereign fund" trump is starting puts up assets like "former national park", "federal water rights", "state and federal timber land"..it's all just an asset to be plundered to him. A hotel company to flip.

  • That and the "businesses want certainty" narrative so they know they'll get some tax cuts...while blowing up their economy, society, government, currency and hegemony.

Truly a golden goose moment that Kindergarteners know that those greedy corporate fucks will have to learn, again. The only problem is we have to suffer through their greed for it.

  • "we just need certainty" - any American CEO bleating on behalf of shareholders that were willing to risk it all on authoritarian rule assuming they'd be on the lifeboat unharmed.
