  • To be fair, those guys are probably victims of being manipulated by grifters who stand to gain from selling hate. I'm sure there are some conventionally attractive Nazis, and there's ugly tolerant folk.

But I'm not really interested in being fair to Nazi's. Fuck 'em.

  • This happens again and again and again. At every level, public and private.

The answer is not "filter these people out of these jobs" because very often they have no prior records. Or sometimes someone gets phished. The answer is to stop enabling this in the first place.

  • A lot of what I'm seeing here is included on my Sony Xperia.

Headphone jack, notification light, SD card.

I do miss having a replaceable battery like my older LG phones had and stereo fromt-firing speakers like my HTC One M8.

  • I said "distanced". I never said he's never used that word ever.

Looking back at the original link I posted, you can see the reality of the situation. His main sponsored bills are primarily focused on Agriculture. This publication grants his voting record an "ideology" score right in the middle of the Democratic party. He's not the face of Medicare for All or UBI or the Green New Deal. He's an ally to "progressives" and shares a lot of stances with them, but deviates in some areas like supporting fracking. So depending on the context he might pccasionally get called one or refer to himself as one because that's the easier sound bite than digging into the details.

If saying that he doesn't consider himself a "progressive" is going to help middle aged working class men vote in their own best interests for a change, i don't really care. The words we use to describe politicians change almost every election cycle.

Pointing out whether he calls himself a progressive or not is just as meaningless as pointing out that Lincoln was a Republican and the Democrats were pro-slavery in the 1800's. Or like saying the Nazi's were socialists because of their name.

  • I really don't have the energy to care about whether he wants to use the word "progressive" or not. It's just marketing. Even if he used it before, he always distanced himself from progressives. Even down to his color scheme being black coughedgelordcough instead of blue.

Call me when he actually votes against something he campaigned for.

  • Did he ever express a Pro-Palestinian or anti-Israeli stance to try to get elected?

Are there any actual issues where you've identified his stance flipping?

I really don't care if he or anyone else wants to call him "progressive" or not. That's just political branding. Politicians and media throw out words all the time without knowing or caring about what they actually mean, and those meaning drift over time. Tons of America uses the term "liberal" to mean "left". The word "socialism" has completely lost all meaning. "Conservative" politics nowadays involves a ton of government spending and deficits.

I'm not just blindly defending him. He's never been a perfect candidate, I don't agree with all of his stances, and definitely not his stance on Israel. I also don't like that he supports fracking. I'm just calling out what is clearly just a badly done hit piece.

Abortion right, minimum wage, LGBTQ+ protections, criminal justice reform, taxing the rich, increased social programs, election reform, supreme Court reform, environmental protections, and tons of other issues I mostly agree with him on, and when given the opportunity to vote on it he's been consistent.

Joe Biden branded himself as a moderate and has effectively been the most progressive president in decades. Definitely since Carter, debatable even further back. Once again I don't agree with some of his stances: Israel and the rest of the Middle East, his handling of the rail workers strike, and more.

Attacking the politicians I mostly agree with to try to get that 1% extra agreement seems like pointless in-fighting when you have other politicians trying to push white Christian nationalism.

  • To be clear I haven't bought or played the game myself. The video on question was from Camelworks if you're interested.

But yeah right now I can't see myself buying it for any more than $5 to mess around with. Best-case scenario is probably that they release some DLC that fixes a lot of things and maybe my personal valuation of a "complete" edition goes up to more like $20. I would also probably need to upgrade my RX580 too lol.

  • I came across this post while listening to a primarily Elder Scrolls YouTuber talk about Starfield. I haven't bought Starfield myself, but was planning on doing so when it goes on sale eventually.

He's going through and just listing mechanic after mechanic that is missing from Starfield that existed in previous Elder Scrolls and Fallout games. Even basic UI and QoL features, but also the mechanics and how they interact, the way the game seems to be trying to be taking multiplayer looter-shooter mechanics for a singke-player experience.

I don't think their game design is outdated. It looks more like they've gotten away from their old game design and are just copying other big modern games.

  • Sweeney does not want to contribute in any way towards making the steam deck more profitable.

I think he actually wants a monopoly. He wants to be, functionally, the only digital storefront on PC. And doing anything that could help Valve, even in another market, would detrimental to that goal.

  • One i don't see mentioned here is the PS3 digital download of the PS1 version. You can emulate it on RPSC3.

There's no benefit to doing so that I'm aware of, and in fact it's less convenient and probably less efficient than just using a PS1 emulator. But you can do it!

  • I'm 100% neurotypical and and find that pretty much every community is just a bunch of relatable memes. ADHD, Autism, Bi-polar disorder, depression, etc.

Same thing with all the various sexual identities. I'll call out bisexual people because I think most of them will admit it: they'll take literally any behavior and appropriate it as a key element of bi culture. Lemon bars? Bi. Bad sitting posture? Bi. Cuffed jeans? Bi. Finger guns? You're not a goofy sitcom character, you're bi! Appropriating any innocuous behavior as part of your sexual identity's culture? Bi!

I've got no problem with it. Anything for more good memes.

  • ????

Yes they've had slim versions of course, but their performance/feature mix has been the same (or even worse) than the original. I'm not sure why you're bringing them up? That's been a part of the industry for longer than Sony has- Sega had 3 models of the Genesis, Nintendo had the top-loading NES, etc.

I'm also not sure what you're referring to with the Apple marketing bandwagon. The word "Pro" has been used for consumer goods for decades. Off the top of my head I always think of Bass Pro shops. Apple is just one of many, many companies doing the same thing. And also that only applies to Playstation- Microsoft is using their X terminology. Although we will have to see if Microsoft decides to upgrade the Series X what the hell they'd call it (2x? XX?).

My apologies if I come off as rude, but I'm genuinely trying to figure out what you're talking about here.

  • Traditionally, console makers like Sony and Microsoft often create a mid-cycle console refresh,

Am I tripping or did this only happen once each? Was there some PS3 Pro or Xbox 360X that I missed?

I'm not saying they aren't going to do it again, but I wouldn't call it a tradition just yet.

Edit: People I know there were slim versions and other variants of consoles. I'm talking about mid-generstion upgrades to performance. Like Nintendo handhelds: the New 3DS and Gameboy Color would be reasonable examples. There's some things you can stretch: the N64 memory pack, the Sega tower of power.
