  • But they did misinterpret it, did they not? Didn't you say you were Chinese?

If so you should know that "getting licked" is the Chinese equivalent of "getting your ass kissed". You wouldn't be called sexist for saying you get your ass kissed.

  • That depends entirely on the currency.

Ethereum l2 has way lower (less than a tenth) transaction fees than credit cards and barely has an impact at all on the environment because there is no mining.

And cryptocurrencies do have consumer protection services but no one ever uses them.

More importantly, however, Visa and mastercard collude and boycott japanese anime and manga websites because they think anime and manga promote gender stereotypes, so credit cards can fuck right off.

  • I mean, is he wrong then? I also think monero is crucial, especially after visa and master card started boycotting Japanese anime and manga sites, claiming they promote negative female stereotypes.

  • I've never tried this but how about one of those small DIY greenhouses? Apparently they're pretty easy to make. I'm not sure how cold it gets at your latitude but with a greenhouse you could manage to lower your zone a level. Maybe enough for those carrots.

Worst case I guess is just grow winter crops during the summer. Half a year of cheaper food is better than nothing.

  • Have you tried carrots? They can grow in negative 8 degrees Celsius (around 19 degrees freedom units)

I think broccoli and Brussels sprouts also do well.

When it comes to cucumbers, however, growing a ton, and pickling them is perfect for using all year round, and pickling is also way easier than I first thought.

  • I like growing vegetables and flowers. It is the only think keeping me sane living in the city.

I know some do not, but the tariffs are happening, so best you can do is adapt, though honestly I would suggest it even if the tariffs were cancelled. It saves money, is good for the environment and your mental health.

  • Are all cucumbers imported? Those can be farmed in the US, I believe.

I suggest starting a small garden for various vegetables and spices to save money. For those living in apartments, you can make some in your windows.

Mini leeks are probably the easiest. I actually got an overwhelming amount just from two pots and barely needed to do any kind of maintenance.

  • There’s no easy fix for this

You can start by being honest and transparent.

This is only a misinformation problem because there is a trust problem.

There is only a trust problem because of a long history of repeatedly breaking that trust.

The absolutely last thing you want is for regulation to limit speech of the influencers. You want to give them no reason to think there is foul play. You have to fight it with the truth.

Remove corporations' and political parties' right to privacy. Privacy is for humans. Everything else goes on a public ledger.

Make all scientific publications public and free forever. Science should not be paywalled.

Always mark (not remove) misinformation and enforce a notification system on all platforms to users who saw content that later turned out to be misinformation. Always provide evidence for why it was misinformation. Make reading the misinformation notifications mandatory to keep your social media account.

  • This. Why would anyone want their private conversations, out there? Don't put your password in you will. Put a dead man switch on your PC.

If it is to close down a social media account they can contact the company directly.

If it is to take out money, they can contact the bank directly.

If it is to inform contacts, they can live without knowing.

If it is to cancel subscriptions, you're going to have to send letters, wait in a phone call for hours, and cancel the credit card either way because of scummy cancellation practices.
