I miss thrift stores being thrift stores.

I only got to experience the tail end of the good days. Once they all started pricing things in the context of the national or global market, instead of their local community, things got bad.

It’s ok. Big pharmaceutical has our backs.

I find the online cheerleading for AI and AGI strange. It feels like a frothing mob rooting for the unleashing of a monster at times.

Built-in automatic handling of URLs to translate them into arbitrary ones would be a neat utility feature.

This would make it feel better in desktop browsers too.

I exchanged messages with a new user who also found that to be an issue not too long ago.

Canceling the trial should be possible without an Apple device.

But deleting the account… I bet Apple refuses to do that for you over the phone due to possible social engineering issues. But that’s just a suspicion.

But there is an API you can build clients for.

That’s exactly what I use to do. I’ve never agreed with all his opinions. But it went from “we just have different perspectives” to “I can’t tolerate this nonsense, willful ignorance, etc, etc.”

He really changed. He went from a lunkhead you could assume had his heart in the right place, even if he said dumb ignorant shit, to someone who’s spreading toxic ideologies that “other” people and sow broad and deep distrust in our institutions. — It’s beyond musing about conspiracy theories and talking about “they.” Now it’s active agenda laden conspiracy proselytization.

He came up recently during the LA fires because he was spouting bullshit about them.

Totally forgot about the guy.

long-format, uncensored interviews with interesting people in en era of heavy media manipulation and short form propaganda.

There seem to be lots of options for that these days. He’s not so unique anymore.

But he built up such a large audience.

I use to casually watch select episodes where the guest was someone cool or interesting. And the fringe topics could be fun.
