  • Can I make an account for someone without knowing their password?

Last I tried, literally the only way to create a user was to enter a password. Without something like an email or link to create an account remotely, it's a non-starter for me.

  • I don't know enough to know if nationalizing the police is a good idea, but that's already an issue. Police can and do just move from one department to another.

At the very least there should be a national license or record that follows them.

  • I personally don't think they do, but an argument can certainly be made. Rust proc macros can run arbitrary code at compile time. Build scripts can also do this.

This means, adding a dependency in Cargo.toml is often enough for that dependency to run arbitrary code (as rust-analyzer will likely immediately compile it).

In practice, I don't think this is much worse than a dependency being able to run arbitrary code at runtime, but some people clearly do.

  • Are you sure about that? My understanding is that gravitational waves are predicted by general relativity, not inconsistent with it.

In any case, "all models are wrong, but some are useful". Gravity as curvature is a pretty damn useful model.

  • Is this legal? My understanding is that the strip of grass between the sidewalk and street is "semi-private", in that the homeowner has to maintain it, but that the city actually owns it.

I'd check local laws and see if the HOA has any right to restrict dogs there.

    1. He asked if he could say "a word". Usually, that expression is not meant literally, but in this case it was.
    2. The word said was "plethora", which can be defined as "a lot", as pointed out in the final panel. This panel also has a double meaning, as normally the phrase uttered would not be meant literally.
    3. I don't believe there is a third layer.
