No, I just use the built-in reader. I tried a couple of additional third party ones and my battery drain was pretty bad. Might have been a me problem though.
I'm gonna be the guy that says no. It's not an open world exploration game, it's more of an exposition game. Playing in small bits is likely gonna leave you stuggling to remeber where the story left off and what you were trying to do. Maybe if you did chunks of the story at once but even short sessions for me turn into hours.
Hard agree. For me Sync was Reddit. Once it stopped working I had no reason to put up with a substandard experience. I do miss the content and would probably even go back if they reversed their stance.
I was mostly taking a piss at the hot topic, but I really do think it's a worthwhile purchase. I have tried nearly every other app and just wasn't able to do what I wanted with them.
I did take a look at Infinity at your suggestion and it does look darn good and come close to the features I want. Will be interested to see how it turns out. I would like customizations to make their compact view even more compact, I treat my reader like old school RSS. I like density!
I really want to play with my kid, she loves DnD, but I was exploring one place and I opened a barn door to be greeted by an orc rawdogging an ogre. Can't have that stuff popping up with my kid playing.
Came from using Sync for probably close to a decade on Reddit, so I'm definitely a creature of habit switching back for it on Lemmy. That being said, I tried ALL the apps looking for a solid experience and nothing delivers like Sync (opinion). All of them were missing something that completed my experience, was that experience coloured by my time with Sync on Reddit, sure. For all the options Sync gives me I'm willing to pay the dev half the cost of a steak dinner. I've already spent 100x longer on Sync for Lemmy than it would take me to eat said steak.
As for FOSS, let's just say it's not the be all / end all. Look at all the options that Sync brought to the table in a month that Lemmy hasn't added in the whole of its development.
Personally I feel like most of the folks complaining about Ads in Sync are just complaining to complain. The FOSS crowd is also the most likely to use ad blocking, filtered dns providers, pi-hole, adguard etc and if that's the case they won't even see a single Ad.
I probably wouldn't expose it externally to your network, but that's just me. Unless that's what you're doing, there aren't really any ports to expose with Traefik.
9.5, yes
