  • I'm parenting two kids with ADHD. One is also ASD.

    1. Sleep. They won't get ready for bed. They won't go to bed. They won't get out of bed in the morning. They won't get ready for school.
    2. They struggle a bit. They can make 5 minute friends, but they often become demanding or lash out at the first sign of frustration and their friends don't hang around. They can offend people easily.
    3. Meds. Melatonin and stimulants. Super effective. The school will call me within 90 minutes if I forget to administer meds. It's that obvious.
    4. I am burnt out. All the time. It's hard to do anything but raise the kids and go to work.
    5. Probably a reliable babysitter. The grandparents have very limited capacity.
  • Law enforcement have tools to bypass lockscreens and access the data on the device. They use backdoors and exploits, so older phones are more vulnerable. Most exploits only work if the phone has been unlocked at some point since it was booted.

This is why law enforcement keep them powered-on, and in a faraday cage. They are in a state with a better chance of unlock, but have no signal so nobody can remotely find/lock/wipe it.

  • He got Melbourne the F1 Grand Prix, and then nerfed all public transport to the GP to make room for a bloody casino. It's almost easier to drive to Adelaide.

Oh, and he started that fucking toll road trend that has spread like cancer.

  • AreWeAntiCheatYet does a decent job of cataloguing what has anti-cheat, and what actually works on Linux / Wine.

It would be great to have it shown on the Steam store. I refunded a game recently because my kid bought something with anti-play by accident.

  • That's hilarious. I haven't been able to enable IPv6 since the August update. The machine just spins to 100% CPU across every core like a forkbomb.

It pissed me off because my home network is built IPv6-first.

If my work pushes 24H2 I'll just have to disable both :/

  • WebP is basically the format used to store i-frames in WebM/VPx videos. Google acquired on2 technologies for this tech many years ago, and it was to stop W3C from standardising a patent encumbered codec like H.265. These were all well intentioned.

WebP / WebM has all been superceded by AV1 / AVIF anyway. It never really took off, and it's too late to start now.
