Friendica is what they want. I agree. And you can get all of your content inside Friendica and never leave. Follow mastodon folks, pixelfed folks, lemmy communities, peertube channels, etc.
That's because it is another bubble. They're all bubbles IMO. Since the boom of the internet they've all been scrambling from one fools gold rush to the next. Crypto, nft, metaverse, AI. Heel even social media that was given freely isn't returning the expected investments and that's why they're all enshitiffying.
Thank you so much! It's nice to know others agree. I've been so concerned with all of this, thinking I'm the only one thinking this, but I'm not. We're ALL thinking this. And I've been having an absolute BLAST. Not just for myself, but doing my Fireside Fedi show and even working towards setting up my nonprofit BT Free. We'll see where it all goes. I'd say leave it. I don't know about at Facebook, but lots of companies still have that data in their database. They just remove publicly facing versions or index to it. And even if they do remove it they'd have backups and wont go through every backup ever to remove your info. So you'll always be in there. And even if for some reason they close, they'll sell all that data to someone else. We have digital ghosts floating everywhere. Don't give them anymore pieces of you. Just walk away and never look back IMO.
I'm not doing a publishing platform really. And I can't seem to get email going. I've tried with MailerSend and while I know I can send email, through swaks, Ghost just won't. Someone told me it only uses MailGun, which I attempted to set up and after 2 days the DNS verification didn't go through, even though I konw for a fact it was there. And at this point I really don't want lock in to a specific service if that's true.
I'm looking and I'm not seeing a troll. I'm seeing someone that's looking for help and seems to not really understand a lot of what's around them buddy. And yes, I'll defend people.

If the person is a troll, then ignore them. Why do you feel you have to attack them? You're not defending anyone by putting someone else down. Just because you don't understand them, doesn't make them a troll.
Downvotes are because a lot of folks are against ChatGPT and LLMs. We're going through MANY information transitions in the last 40 years and yet another holy grail is difficult to swallow. If you want to ask ChatGPT that's fine, but I'm trying to get folks to foster the Fediverse and make it more welcoming, more valuable, and heck just help people find us. Use the tools you want, absolutely. But we also need to find ways to help promote the Fediverse.

Kalvin I recommend you just block people and if their instance harasses you you can report them. While they might own their instance your instance, Lemmy.world might ban their entire instance and then they're totally gone.
Here's a thought, maybe not harass someone? Try to be kind and compassionate? You have 3 people on your instance, so I imagine that's just you or a friend's. Kalvin could of and looking at the comments here alone, should have, reported you to Lemmy.world and they could ban your entire instance. So why not just try to actually get along with folks?
