  • Who says there can't be SFF phones with replacable batteries. In fact, old samsung phones had replacable batteries.

  • I thought that Hexbear wasn't going to federate with lemmy.world to begin with, but apparently it was according to this archived version of the post announcing the federation. Yeah my bad :)

  • Works fine for me. The sheer ability to have addons like ublock origin on mobile, something that no chromium-based browser allows you to do, was enough to convince me to switch.

  • though Apple is expected to adopt curved edges for the first time since the iPhone 11.

  • I was initially on lemmy.world, but the frequent DDOS attacks and the fact that Hexbear and Beehaw had defederated from it really put me off. Also, communities like !linux and !privacy were much bigger on lemmy.ml compared to lemmy.world.

    Soo I jumped ship to lemmy.ml

  • None of these politcians who push for all those "protect the children" laws actually gives a shit about child safety. The only thing that such laws mange to do is restrict freedom of speech and expression for everyone including children.

    If you are a careless parent, then no law is going prevent your kids from watching porn.

  • Digg was essentially a site for sharing and discussing various links across the internet. It used to be extremely popular before the rise of Reddit, but it declined heavily after a controversial redisign (the infamous Digg v4) with most of it's users fleeing to Reddit.
