  • ah yes, the lebensraum bullshit.

you know why people point out that the modern Israeli state has ironically taken on fascist characteristics? because of people like you, literally on here trying for a speedrun Umberto's common features of fascism

  • plenty of jews are fine living in a Palestinian state, you just don't hear about them because they aren't the "right" kind of jew, It wasn't the Palestinians that segregated out dark skinned jews, nor ran sterilization campaigns for Ethiopian jews

  • no, the real reason is scanners, trek ships would know the entire layout of the enemy including any weak points in seconds and blasting them in short order with its phasers/disruptors, meanwhile SW still aims ship guns like it's 1940 on the USS Colorado (BB-45).

Imagine this: the death star, slowly maneuvering around to get a firing angle on the strange "federation"(some strange new rebel group that the empire has been encountering lately) outpost situated on some moon, when suddenly a cruiser sized ship drops out of hyperspace way closer than the mass of the death star should have allowed, yet still outside the death starts turret range (how could they know?), when suddenly it shoots a "particle lance" that is able to dig a hole into your entire 3km thick armor in minutes (while 3km of steel is nice and all, a phaser can dig through a 15km asteroid in like 30seconds) and then drops what you can only guess as some sort of space torpedo into the hole, that then blows up inside the death star with an explosive yield that would wipe out an entire city in seconds, most likely directly on top of the reactor core, giving us a big boom.

  • oh, the old "base load" lie? the one that exists because large power companies want to keep milking their massive investment power plants to generate more ROI.

think about it, it stipulates that a "base load" power plant should be running all the time to cover the load on the grid, but what would be the point of renewables then? you're not going to magically consume more power just because wind/solar are producing more.

no, if you actually want renewables used, you need secondary power generation that can be ramped up or down in minutes not weeks that can be adjusted based on grid load and renewable production, but that would mean less uptime for the lucrative big power plants.

  • and advanced economic theory says that basic economic theory is crap, what you consider "basic economic theory" is woefully outdated and has never been backed by any evidence.

as for the supply and demand crap, it really just boils down to the prisoner's dilemma,

1: A lowers prices & B lowers prices = lower profits for both

2: A lowers prices & B does not lower prices = A has medium profits, B goes broke

3: A does not lower prices & B lower prices = A goes broke, B has medium profits

4: A does not lower prices & B does not lower prices = both have high profits

and remember, the people running A and B have taken some basic courses in math and logic

  • Funfact: domestic abuse is strongly tied to a previous history of abuse, or simply put, the perpetrators learned to do it while they were the victims, often from their parents.

And in a society where mental health access is practically nonexistent, there aren't many ways for someone to break the cycle. I guess pretending it's just a personal failure instead of a societal one is nice because it eliminates any burden on oneself.

  • you can support the Amazon workers unions in a multitude of different way, depending on the exact structure, anything from donating a few bucks to the strike fund too righting a letter to your local representatives, or just informing those around yourself to why unions aren't literally the devil

  • that is not what it was designed to do, I don't know exactly where that little truism started, but that is bullcrap.

it started as a way for a privileged, wealthy minority to make decisions on how to run a nation, and it still is doing that to this day. Separation of powers was nothing new when the founding fathers axed the articles of confederation and replaced it with the constitution.

then again, if you think the US labor board is "individuals amassing too much power" what do you call the significantly smaller group like the speaker of the house/senate, a position the republicans have used for years to act as a veto stronger than the president by just not bringing up legislation?
