  • Yep, this is my setup. I did the whole *arr apps, Plex and Usenet setup for years, but hated dealing with storing the files. It also didn’t help when my 8TB drive decided to act up and make files inaccessible.

Now I stream everything through Stremio with RD+. Works on every device flawlessly.

  • I bought it for the Xbox X. Runs amazing but I get why people would skip. DRM and forced raytracing is pretty sucky. I’ve already beaten it and am on my second play through. I’ve been a Doom addict since childhood when I played Knee-deep in the Dead.

  • What’s Minnesota like? I grew up in snow but now reside in the southern heat and I don’t like it.

  • I was able to get battery limiting via PowerTools and Decky, but I love that they’re baking this into the core.

Love the Bluetooth remote functionality! I can finally turn it on with my Flipper lol.

  • Now block emails that contain “Israel” (they won’t because we all know what this is truly about).

  • I love this 😂

I originally wanted destroying.yachts but that was taken.

  • I have quite a bit of disk space from before I moved over to object storage. I can’t size it down so I just roll with it. 4gb of RAM, 70gb disk, 2 Intel vCPUs, then a bucket for object storage (dirt cheap which is nice). I mostly use it for myself and have it federated with a variety of servers and communities. I’ve been in tech for years and like offering it. I also have a Matrix server too but that’s pretty tiny.

  • It can be a bit expensive, but I’m okay with it if it adds another instance choice for people. Switching over to object storage was an absolute lifesaver.

I never thought I’d own a “.yachts” domain lmao.

  • I run my own instance. I’d tell Elon to eat a pile of soggy dicks before I shut anything down.

  • I don’t really approve of their behavior because it’s sending “you don’t know how to do your job” vibes among other things. They could’ve just signaled to their server and asked for a status update.

I know as a programmer, I’d be pretty annoyed if someone shoved my chair out of the way to start typing the code themselves. No mechanic is going to be happy about a customer grabbing tools and doing their own work.

  • Or it sat in the window too long waiting for a runner and now it’s cold (sadly, I’ve had this happen more often than it simply taking a while to be prepared).

  • I host my own bucket that I have tied to Dropshare, and I throw everything I find into that.

  • I refuse to pay $80 for a game and Borderlands fell off after the second one, so good luck with that. $70 was also a bridge too far for 99% of games (I made the exception for gems like Elden Ring).

  • Stremio is everything I could ever want and more.

  • I don’t care enough about my Bluesky account to be upset when I eventually delete it.

  • Seeing a subscription actually makes my decision easy. I see it and immediately know to avoid.

  • Similar tactic for cellular service: tell them the company you work for is giving you a phone. That has worked for me in the past. It’s impossible for them to compete with free.
