the two vpns are not concurrently active.

we need to change the parameters of success.

the current "world's richest persons" list is actually the "world's greediest persons" list. we need to all start calling it exactly that. we need to, as society, understand that having those levels of wealth is more a symptom of a sick and twisted mind rather than a consequence of "business acumen".

the world's richest persons list should be recalibrated to what percentage of one's income has been given away in taxes and donations. think about it, if you can indulge in all your necessities, comforts, and luxuries on 10% of your income and still afford to give away the other 90%, are you not 9 times "richer" than you need to be?

separately, any company that turns an obscene profit has done so only by overcharging their customers. these companies should be vilified therefore, and not celebrated.

i don't see how this is going to play out in the long term, though. the right wing fervour in the country has been stoked primarily by this "mosque x temple issue", and modi's party has actually ridden this horse through the democratic process over the last three decades to "success" -- yes, make no mistake, democracy has not failed in india. the majority of voters are really that fervent in their championing of "hindutva".

but with the denouement of this chapter, they will no longer have the temple as a north star. they will no longer have this major unifying factor. this, in a way, is terrifying simply because the go-to fallback of this government to rally their voters into line is aggression towards pakistan.

with both countries pointing nuclear warheads at each other, this could have severe repercussions for the region and the world at large.

i found it easier to quit smoking, frankly, than quit sugary soft drinks.

the journey was simple: i just refused to smoke the next cigarette. i kept the last half-open pack and the lighter within easy reach (i could have started again in 5 seconds, if i wanted) and did not throw any of my many backup stash packs away.

the first week was tough, and the smoking dreams persisted for about 15 months, but i no longer crave nicotine in any form.

as someone who'd smoked 8-12 cigs a day for over 20 years, it definitely wasn't as hard to quit as people make it out to be (even though this was my fifth attempt to do so in a decade). seriously, quitting cola drinks has been the far tougher challenge for me.

i had to visit at least thrice a day over a three month period because of their shitty customer service.

it's all good, though. ive learnt to never, ever, buy a samsung product again.

how reliable is imazing? one is wary of exposing all data on a device to an unknown third party emulator.
