blocking the .ml instances helps, a lot. I made the recent mistake (twice!) commenting on Lemmy.ml. over there, anything NOT praising Russia, NK, or China is hated. they're pretty smooth-brained and not worth arguing with. same with lemmygrad, same with hexbear. I'm fairly new to federation, and that was a big learning curve for me. a lot of the Europe or US based instances are way more open to hearing opinions and conversation, so I'd start there.

OP, you don't need to repost this in every news community! it would be pretty silly to say its gonna be a "comfortable" loss. its gonna be insanely close and posting this kind of stuff discourages further voting. and also, yes. things will get hairy either way. the best outcome is to assume that the worst could happen, and prepare for it. The SCOUTS is betting on this being close so they can pull their shenanigan again.

or video recording possibly? depends hugely on the judge/corruptness of the court/state. some courts throw out cases based on pure testimony because of the lack of documented evidence in situations like this one. this is usually why cops will make you do sobriety tests, it is used to validate and document the fact that someone is too intoxicated to drive. these actions are usually also recorded, and presented as evidence to the district attorney. a good lawyer can get you out of this situation, especially if its just speculation from the officer. the more evidence they have on you, the harder it is to prove your innocence, and vise-versa. either way, lawyer up!
