  • It could be hilarious to have those censored in some countries and turned into old timey expressions.

God fucking damn it! -> Great Googly Moogly!

  • I don't think they need to send people down or even complex sensors, they could use a similar dumb tactic, as above, of dragging something heavy for kilometers, until they can confirm that there was a disruption on the network.

  • Anduril, Palmer Luckey’s foray into military hardware and an ever-present surveillance state. Some of the first hardware they rolled out were surveillance towers for the US border patrol.

Same vibe as Palantir by Peter Thiel, big data analytics platform used by many defense/security organizations. Far right pseudo-libertarians love abusing Tolkien's lore, sadly.

  • For the big makers of pseudo-science based bullshit medicine, see Weleda (naturopathy, anthroposophy) and Boiron (homeopathy).

  • I don't think the hardest part would be teaching the difference between historical socialism and social democracy, as used in Europe. Social democrat parties in Europe are often just called the "Socialist Party" (ex: France, Spain, with recent elected country leaders) and nobody associates them with the Soviet Union.

  • And it was done with something no designed for this purpose. Why is it hard to conceive that a tool designed for it would do much better?

  • I hope you will manage to build an actually-social democrat party.

  • Crêpes in France. Those are ours, smaller than usual because I only have a small frying pan currently.

  • Visible post and comment scores are still going to produce some of this behavior. You may not have a total karma but people will still get dopamine from seeing their posts getting upvotes and be reinforced in doing the same again. So the same mechanisms of social pressure and uniformisation are at play. The worst being when people delete their minority opinion comments because of the downvote pressure.

  • I guess you meant is not entirely wild. It's actually fairly common for protected animals in parks to have tracking collars so they can be better protected by rangers against poachers, lions and rhinos may have them too.

  • Idk what's the organisation structure, but they can be used as a gift for donators. The EFF does that and has pretty cool original tshirts than change every few years.

  • Lemmy could pop their bubble of peace with politics and confrontation.

  • Because its root is ~Marxist techies, I think it takes many newbies by surprise and is not super enjoyable for the average user.

  • Public transportation subscription.

  • I didn't understand how making your GPS more unreliable allowed you to be located in far away countries.
