If you choose your local community, that money stays in your community, and it's likely to make it back to you.

If you buy from a company headquartered in a different city, the money you spend goes to that other city.

The US Military was a well-oiled machine before January 20, 2025. Now it's a machine whose oil is driving more than all other machines and is about six months past its due date for an oil change. They've announced a bunch of plans for more trips, but nobody's changing the oil anymore.

Google offered Workspace free to individuals. I set that up and used it for my family, and then BAM! After a lomg time using it, they removed the free plan, once we were using it for logins for a bunch of sites and for our emails. Went from free to $50 per month. It took a LOT of effort to get my family off of that. Never again.
