Netflix: “Should I get short term profits by price gouging and forcing commercials on people (thereby driving people to piracy) or should I forgo year over year profit increases by continuing to provide decent tv with no commercials and no price increases and delivering consistent profits?”
The reason people aren’t protesting in not some fantasy that they’ll benefit from it one day but that they will fall under the weight of capitalism’s heavy hand if they get recorded protesting and get fired or get a sick day and get fired and lose everything. The reason that the wealthy don’t want a safety net is not just because they hate the poor (they do) but because they have control over a population of workers who live in fear of the economic meat grinder. The system is so much more cynical and cruel than I would have imagined possible.
I was lucky enough to purchase my home before it doubled in value just under 6 years ago. And at a 2 and a quarter % rate. And now I’m locked into this house now because there’s no way I’m jumping out of a rate this low.
They’re fomenting anger based on an accurate representation of what is happening in Gaza but completely absolving themselves in the incursion into Ukraine and some of the suspected war crimes that have been noted in Ukraine.
Destroying everything Palestinian to eventually make Gaza an extension of Israel. And they’re doing this in the most obscene way possible so that nothing is left. Everything is destroyed. And that people forget.
Exactly. Not to mention that there are states that had minor increases on the wealthiest of the state and made school lunches free. This country is abysmal.
I hate seeing these articles as if those people should be thankful for the kindness of some random person instead of being angry that school lunch debt is something that actually exists.
I’m criticizing Pelosi because she is a democrat. We don’t expect anything better from the GOP. We can hopefully exert some pressure through outrage to make democrats change this. Democrats by and large suck but it’s a given that republicans do this too.
I hate these stupid narrative articles. If you witnessed 4 years of Trump after voting for Obama and your takeaway is he’ll do more to lower my groceries, you’re off your rocker. This isn’t serious journalism.
