I guess those of us who keep their devices on vibrate are out of luck. Why couldn't they just limit the number "pings" that an app can send within a certain period of time? They could easily make this user confgurable. 😭
Are you so naive to think that Yugoslavia, Iraq, Afghanistan, Libya, and even the 2013 coup in Ukraine were not acts of conquest of the US empire? Perhaps you're correct that the wider international community has rejected acts of conquest, but this certainly doesn't include the USA, who is quite literally a rogue state.
Previous waves of Chinese immigrants to Hong Kong came mostly from the southern part of the country. They often spoke Cantonese and integrated quickly. But the latest influx comes from all over the mainland, says Eric Fong of the University of Hong Kong. “Integration, if it occurs, may take longer than in the past.” Hong Kongers, protective of their distinct identity, are not always the most welcoming bunch. When a group of mainland children was spotted squatting on a train platform last year (as is customary in parts of China), locals poked fun at them on social media.
Some aspects of culture are really not worth defending. Another big L for the economist.
Every one of these sources is a dead end. They all point to other news articles that make similar baseless claims or webinars on YouTube (?!). Or worse, they cite themselves as evidence.
No evidence?
[...]
I'm not claiming these sources (all of which, but especially the third one, rely on other, specified sources) are necessarily trustworthy, etc. But evidence is absolutely being claimed.
Yeah. Claiming there's evidence and actually providing evidence for such claims are completely different. That's the whole point.
If you're referring to the article that this is written about, then yes. The burden of evidence is on those making the accusations. In this case, the IOF is accusing Hamas of rape without any evidence. The MSM is acting as a mouthpiece of the IOF, by reprinting their statement without any due diligence.
Seriously though, the further capitalism plunges into crisis, the more the burger empire will look to its allies in the periphery to exploit. It's already happening in Europe.
His argument for socialism boils down to moralistic criticism of unequal distribution, and pointing to socialism as a society in which all people receive a guaranteed minimum income, in other words, a more egalitarian society in terms of value received.
Socialism does aim to provide a minimum standard of living for everyone, though. He also talks about worker-owned means of production, democracy in the workplace, and bottom-up decision making wrt centrally planned economic goals. These things are to the left of social democracy.
That being said, the more that I read theory, the less I get out of watching YouTube. It stands to reason that you can't summarize 300+ pages into a 15 minute video.
What about long press to expand/collapse the chain and tap to show/hide the bar? Personally, most of my miss-clicks are attempts to click a link in the body. This results in everything collapsing and then needing to click to expand before trying again. I think it would be less frustrating if a miss-click of this type resulted in just the bar collapsing or expanding which doesn't hide the link that was missed.
What has the Canadian state done to materially improve the conditions of the indigenous population? It's all lip service and no action. The major difference here is that the project of ethnic and cultural genocide was largely successful, wiping out the chance of any serious resistance movement.
