The word “democracy” comes from two Greek words that mean people (demos) and rule (kratos).

There are many different kinds of democracy. Just because you've got it in your head that only liberal democracy is democracy, does not change its definition, nor does it make China's system non-democratic. About 10% of the Chinese population is a member of the communist party. This doesn't even include those that are involved in organizations associated with the CPC, or the other minority parties in the country.

Now, would you care to provide your reasons for making that statement?
