  • I had always interpreted the Walking Simulator label as a pejorative and never paid any attention to games described this way. Recently though I got The Invincible because some of the screenshots reminded me of old John Berkey paintings and I'm a total sucker for that kind of stuff, and I just absolutely loved it. I'm looking forward to trying out Firewatch.

  • His base will worship him more for it. He's essentially a black hole (orange hole?) at this point, his people have passed the event horizon and can't turn back.

  • Their business is only in propping up accusations, so he's just gonna blather.

  • "Hey Siri, fast forward two minutes"

  • It’s just a slur. It doesn’t really have any great meaning. It’s kind of like calling somebody a shithead. Do they really have shit on their head, or is it really made out of shit? Probably not, but that’s not the important part of the message. The important part is the accusation, and that’s about all it means. Like the word woke, it doesn’t really mean anything, but everybody who uses it as an accusation is pretty sure what they mean by it. Everybody who would call a black person a jiggaboo (or cleverly cloak it in “peekaboo”) is the same. It has no meaning, but they all agree on what it means to them.

  • I appreciate that this is Kagi

  • Seems like they’re always looking straight out of the screen, just looking dead at you all the time. I hate it when people do that in real life.

  • It's so good. It's mostly just little happy musical chords that are inserted into the dialog. The tones give Rocky a great depth of character.

  • I feel like the version we had definitely had its name printed as Birdo and not Ostro. I have always called that thing Birdo.

  • Orange Vanilla Mio mixed with Key Lime LaCroix is a great drink. I feel like I almost got to where I was spending as much on that as I used to spend on beer and had to cut back on it too, but I don't mind it when I do!

  • One thing that is really handy for development is that you can set up any container to use a proxy server. I use that a lot to reduce the sheer amount of crap that would get sent to the proxy if it were enabled at the system level or in the regular browser network settings. It really keeps the noise down.

  • It's so good. Once the other character shows up and you hear him talking and Grace starts making sense out of what he's saying it's like the book just lights up. That was a really nice touch.
