I am honestly surprised to see it recommended here on Lemmy. When I first heard of it, I went to their website to see what it's all about. I assumed it would be another self hosted DNS service, not a paid proprietary cloud service.
Had the exact same conversation with my wife about this. I ended up manually setting the DNS for my devices instead of setting it in the router config 😮💨
When I worked for ATT, I saw a customer with a legacy unlimited data account. This was after they brought back unlimited data after years of overcharging people for data "overages".
I absolutely could not convince this person to change to the new plan that was a third of the price.
We gave them a bunch of money for the COVID vaccine because it was critical for our country, but they'll turn around and jack up the prices when it's time for us to pay.
Oh believe me. I came prepared with the state codes concerning renters rights and all that.
The judge asked me to explain why I think I deserve treble the amount of my deposit as damages. I had to reference the code number to this judge, and the assistant next to him had to tell him I was right.
Guess which part of the code I didn't think I needed to print out, the part where it defines the time line of when the itemized list of deductions was due. 😤
I took my first landlord to court because they kept my deposit and didn't give me an itemized list of deductions from it. They had three weeks to do so after I surrendered the property.
The god damn judge ruled in their favor because they said that the three weeks started when the original lease ended, not when I dropped off the keys to this office. This was almost 10 years ago and it still puts me in a bad mood.
There are lots of possible account numbers, much more than there are accounts. So there is a very small chance that you will guess an active paid account.
And if you do, there's not much you can get out of it. There's no personal information tied to the account.
I assume they mean there are no account credentials. When you "create" an account on their website, you'll be given a random account number, and no password.
Every project should at least move the default config location to the ./config folder. Even better if they create their own subdirectory in there.
