I checked LinuxPusher and I wouldn't say they're affordable. Their laptops are 2-3x the price of the same laptop running no OS on sites like eBay.de. For example, their cheapest T470 is 3000 krone, while the equivalent laptop on ebay is like 150 euro or 1120 krone.

I looked at a Thinkpad L14 G1, an elitebook 840 G5, and the dell 3060 Micro and it's the same. Consistently 2x and higher markup.

Is that markup worth a 2 year warranty?

You could literally buy a second device if the first one kicks the bucket and still be out ahead monetarily.

If you want to slowly start using linux and already have a pc, make a portable install on any flash drive (I like external ssds for this exact reason) you want, and boot it. (ideally set the RealTimeIsUniversal registry entry in windows so Linux and windows don't fuck up the bios time).

But would it fix the core issues that OP is having?

I should have mentioned this but usually stuff like this is planted in front of people's houses etc. I wouldn't expect a pine tree planted in one of those. Same with a palm tree.

I'm from Pittsburgh and there's a lot of greenery projects and ecological restoration currently going on. Outside of the city, it's very heavily wooded. But it's slow progress.

Those giant algae tanks miss the large point of trees and their physical benefits and do feel like a tech bro solution looking for a problem.

A few reasons: Trees need a lot of space and the space underneath a sidewalk isn't enough for long term life. They can die after like 30 years? This is tree dependent and location dependent.

Tree roots can destroy sidewalks making it harder for people to go over them. (Think people in wheel chairs)

Liability in terms of damage (have you seen trees after a storm?)

You could replace Debbie with Bob and it'd still work exactly the same.

Ace attorney is the reason why I use Tumblr. The chain is also pretty funny in my case. It was pokemon fanfiction, then someone wrote one involving ace attorney, then it spiraled from there.

It can probably tow more, usually 500 kg is like the bare minimum for American cars. Also us towing standards are a bit more strict. A car in the EU is rated to tow more than a car in the US, even if it's identical.

EVs have a very low COG due to the batteries being at the bottom of the car. This is a good thing for handling but making them lighter would be even better.

Tires? General handling? Crash safety for others?

I believe so if they want to be highway legal.

I agree but idk what the hell Hitachi did with that hdd. It is the most responsive hdd equipped machine I've used.

I might also shove 16 gb into it but idk if it will boot with 16 gb. It's also from Sony so idk if I can find an up to date bios for it.

It's okay. Not particularly brilliant but it will run. I'm 80% sure that ram is the big thing that makes it feel responsive. My dad's PC runs windows 11 but is a 2nd gen i5 Sony AIO. 2c4t, an aging 5400 rpm laptop hdd, and 8 gb of ram. It's usable enough for his usecase.

My friend has a quad core Celeron (n4020) laptop with 64 gb of emmc and 4 gb of ram. It's usable. She can play the Sims on it.

Mine had issues with integrated graphics where the driver would crash constantly.

I'm assuming stock ax210 wifi card as well.

I had a lot of stability issues on 11th gen Intel but I was using windows. (I have switched to an amd motherboard on my laptop (no it's not a framework))

I'd love to know what hardware you are using as well.

I don't think it's exactly the same. If I used MT to label data for AI/ML, that would be one thing. If I used MT to complete tasks and calling their effort AI, that would be fraud.

I think it's more of a "this hasn't been sitting in a lot for 2 years". It's funny though.
