  • Very down to earth people. Telling us they want to go outside in the summer so they won't be working for a bit was a bit of a stab at us basement dwellers

  • Yeah it's disheartening to hear good people being hurt by dodgy employers. Need to document everything but where is the incentive for a working holiday maker to fight federal agencies. Especially after they have left the country.

My own experience working in the nt was one of attempted exploitation but I knew my rights and wasn't going to be deported so I choose to fight back. Very different story for someone who's passport is of another nation.

Half of Australia are migrant's or children of migrant and I believe that's what makes this country great. Let's hope this doesn't scare of future Australians from moving here.

  • I'm with you; have fun and break some shit but don't be a cunt.

  • So shouldn't we attempt to stop it. Why rip off young people who just want to experience what life is like in the lucky country.

  • My area is one of these, we call it gods waiting room. We had to wait for someone to die to get us in

  • No one needed a crystal ball to see this was going to happen

  • We are a lo g way from good cycling infrastructure here. There are a few well connected suburbs but most places its dangerous to be cycling on the roads because of the yank tanks

  • Build your own just for fun. That's homelab style

  • My most hated ST 'win'. You're right of course but I've tried to forget that ending

  • Hear hear. There's still a lot of good in there even with the examples you have given

  • My wife just said we should move to Queensland. She was living in Singapore last year and misses the good PT. Brisbane for the win I guess

  • 100% agree. Getting something is better than nothing. Plus with the system the way it is, your just penalising the honest people.

  • If the victorian railways were held accountable and there was less corruption in victracks property division, the dodgy land sales to property developers would stop and there would be more funding for our public transport.

I think we should demo a free system here but with the mayors wanting to rip up bike lanes and the state investing so heavily in roads there's probably no money left for pt.

  • In 2005, the state committed almost $1 billion to develop myki by 2007 to replace the ageing Metcard system, and operate myki for 10 years

Just over half of myki's almost $1 billion initial budget—around $520 million—was for establishing the system by 2007 and operating it for 10 years.

It was expected that myki would deliver around $6.3–$10.8 million per year in economic benefits to the state...

    myki was great value /s

  • Is it money? Seems like money. Like money is all the despair

  • I can't go but if I was it would be the Mario kart competition lounge all day. Love that game

  • That seemed wrong so I looked out up on Wikipedia and wholy shit it's really only been 30 years. I wonder how many of my peers are products of legal rape. Wikipedia article with worldwide data
