  • I use gnome on my main machines, but looking to migrate to cosmic, and I use xfce on more limited devices.

I like the kde project, but I tend not to use it, because I find it a bit overwhelming, even after customizing it, it's hard to explain. I have issues with too many elements in front of me.

  • Quite funny how that's true for the software side, but on the hardware side, geeky people (especially on the foss side) are the ones running things until they accumulate failures to a point that no workarounds will do any good anymore.

  • You're right, and if we think about it, companies are well aware of that, and that's why they don't care for offering anything beyond the basic and walled experience, because we will buy anyway.

  • I didn't know most answers, my mind kinda works with the concepts. The ball was there, but there was no color, not even a grayscale, but the absence of color ( I have difficulty imagining colors in general), the pweson was there, and was a woman, but with no face of features. I don't even know if i really pictured a woman, or if my mind worked on that after seeing the questions. The table was there, but was simply a plane for the ball to be on, without features.

Now that I write this, it seems weird. Do people picture scenarios like this as if seeing a real scene? Can this be related to aphantasia? Should I be worried?

  • It's because of that kind of thing that I'm always skeptical of startups bringing new and shiny things, that weren't properly studied or tested, and promising to revolutionize something.
