  • The Border Patrol and Customs (in the Department of Homeland Security) is actually responsible for securing borders. States do not get to decide how their borders are enforced.

We all have to deal with illegal immigration, most of which doesn't even happen on the southern border. We manage to do it without building death traps or tricking people into getting on busses and sending them to states we don't like.

I know Texas and Abbot think they're special but they're wrong.

  • You seriously think Texas has to deal with more immigration than the entirety of the rest of the U.S.?

Critical thinking really needs to be taught in school.

  • He's a good actor and a great leading man. He doesn't have the most range but when you need his tough-but-not-too-tough-sarcastic-everyman-who-can-take-a-punch.

Hudson Hawk is one of my favorite movies ever made.

postscript: I just realized he's actually credited as a co-writer of Hudson Hawk!

  • I don't believe he has anything to offer, I don't believe he's put forth any policy worth talking about to the Democratic party at all and haven't heard any policy out of his mouth that I wouldn't expect to hear from a Republican. He's vocally anti-vax and anti-choice, two non-starters for me and many on the left, the right seems to like them; maybe he should try talking to them. Additionally, and this is is a perfect example of it, I think we need to get all the old-money Ivy League ruling-class blueblood network out of office and out of government. He needs to go relax with his wealth and family name on an island somewhere and let the citizenry get to the business of running the country before we start to look a little closer at his funding and consider the traditional solution to the dilettante aristocracy.

Unless I’m missing something the definition you provided on spoiler effect isn’t applicable because he won’t be on the ballot if he loses the primary.

The definition doesn't say anything about it needing to be a primary, a candidate with questionable intentions can easily spoil coalitions built during caucusing. I feel like you're just arguing in bad faith at this point or perhaps you're an RFK Jr supporter or just stubborn, either way have a nice night.

  • He's a "dem primary candidate" the same way Bloomberg was in 2016 eh?

He's a milquetoast ruling-class elite, practically American royalty. He's there to water down the democratic field by diluting it with pseudo-rightwing talking points, to spoil the field (by taking up space, airtime, attention, etc) for a further left candidate all while being a nice safe neo-liberal carrying the same water they all do. Give him enough time and he'd probably start talking about supply side economics.

  • It's not my job to explain repeatedly how RFK is a spoiler candidate. It's not my job to handhold every asshat that says "well what about..." because they lack the ability to think critically or use reason.

I'm tired of explaining why the right wing is fucking evil. Only the willfully ignorant subscribe to their BS at this point. You'll never convince someone of a point if they're arguing in bad faith, you'll just waste your time.

If it's that important to you, feel free to engage and have a good conversation with them.

  • Oh cool someone JuST AskINg a QuEsTion, this person definitely cares and is asking seriously. Instead of looking into RFK they've decided it's better to use the "but what-about!?" tactic.

  • denies that he has any firm beliefs and is open to anything

That's not the humblebrag he thinks it is; he's saying he has no character. People who stand for nothing will fall for anything.

  • A society where a store can sell $2k purses made in sweatshops by children in the 3rd world while its own veterans languish with addiction and PTSD problems brought on by the ever-more-unsustainable quest for cheap oil?

That's a fucked society right there.

  • Yeah have you ever been in a Nordstrom? Fuck that place, snatch all the handbags you can and sell them on eBay I don't really care.

You shouldn't bear spray security and maybe they should be charged for it but at least he wasn't shot or something.

  • These fucks have somewhat successfully high jacked our democracy.

  • I haven't been back since June 12th so I get what you're saying but the name of this mag is reddit, it seems like an appropriate place to talk about it.

  • Chronological in the show or by air-date?

    Also Lower Decks is great.

  • I thought of venison too.

Venison has a very iron-y taste which I enjoy. This looks pretty similar to it, nice and dark red. Horse isn't something we eat where I'm from but I'd definitely try it given the opportunity.

  • What are some issues you care about that you've seen no progress on?

  • Yeah I don't think anyone was upset because they thought it was only Republicans bribing people. A bribe from a Democrat(ic/lobbyist/whatever) is the problem. Taking the money and not saying anything about it is the problem to me. His co-worker coming out and saying "yeah congress doesn't have any authority over us" last week is a problem to me. All these ruling-class college frat chums paying each other off and fucking everyone else in the process, is a problem to me.

  • If Musky was half the genius he thinks he is he never would've tried to change the name. Everyone know the name Twitter. Freakin world leaders send out "tweets" to their followers; the brand recognition has to be extremely valuable right?

He bought the company and is apparently doing everything in his power to fuck it up. He's either stupid or this is all part of some illuminati-type plan and he's playing kal-toh.

  • This is so good. I counted 14, maybe 15 if you count the dog.

  • Probably because the people behind these changes by-and-large don't believe psychologists are needed. If you have any problems you should consult your pastor or something.
