  • Detroit in the 70s had more GDP than NYC and took that money right to congress. To this day giant automotive lobbies are the reason for not only legislation in the US but also city planning (or lack thereof) and the removal of public transport. To think getting a railroad is anywhere near as easy as a road is disregarding the influence of millions of dollars from people who would lose money if that rail was built.

  • This is why hes suddenly against it, theres no way Chinese EVs are coming stateside, and the US is even leveraging Mexico to keep them out of Mexico too. He doesn't want to make the smaller profit margin thing everyone wants, because the government is just going to ban what everyone wants instead.

  • Inflation is still happening just slower. So things are still getting more expensive and wages are not following. It's not rocket science unless the guy funding your research specifically asks you to never recommend any solutions that don't make rich people richer.

  • Considering people can view things more than once and Elon has multiple false claims, it's pretty easy to get to that number. You can doubt him because hes Musk but those MAUs are more than enough to hit that number when you make you web site prioritize your own posts on it, he probably has no less than half a dozen lies from just this past week alone. Not to mentions views from people who arent users, embeded views, etc.

  • Only one guy was doing the drop box thing and you can recast a mail ballot if you need to. If the crazies try to attack your polling place on election day, you're probably not getting your vote in on time at all. Also USPS doesn't lay a finger on ballots dropped in the ballot box, they only carry mail ballots that are mailed instead of dropped off.

  • At my job there this almond flavored coffee pods that when brewed smelled overwhelmingly almond-y. My cousin works in metal reclamation an they work with a LOT of cyanide, I tell him if he ever wants the day off, I'll get him a pod, all he needs to do is spill that coffee and they'd shut down the entire floor to double check things.

(context if you're lost is that cyanide smells a lot like almonds)

  • I mean for context something like 70 million early voters already cast their ballot, so this quite literally cannot change their vote and that number is roughly half of the entire votes cast the entire last election. So in all likelihood, roughly half the people you're mad at can't react at all because of how long she waited.
