There is also a bit of a design arms race going on here.
My business has a bloated site with animations, Google fonts, graphic design, etc., etc. Why? Because normie customers expect it and if I don't have it they'll go to a competitor that had a more "designed" website.
If most websites looked as if they were built in the year 2000 we wouldn't lose much functionality and we'd spend much less resources on this stuff...
Right. It certainly happens to the West. But the governments in Western democracy have to be a bit more subtle when it comes to their propaganda and not run this stuff directly.
Otherwise infuriating and time-consuming... Perhaps everywhere. But really, rabies is not! something to mess around with. Even with the smallest chance.
Islam would be fine if they behaved more like moderate Christians or Jews. People seem to forget just how violent the Bible and the Torah are. But the modern versions of those religions don't take their cannon all that literally.
I prefer Firefox and Librewolf because they are less dependent on Google. But I never disliked Brave. I have it as a second browser. I think the issue people have with them is that they are also fundamentally an ad company.
Look, nothing lasts forever. For now, I think brave is a decent alternative to Chrome if people don't want to leave Chromium.
Well not every intellectual was born in the past century. Virtually all of these would be conservative based on our modern values. Virtually no one 100 or 200 years ago would have been in favor of gay marriage. There were plenty intellectuals 100 and 200years ago.
Ideally we'd all use password managers, but I'm aware 99% of peoole don't. Even with one, it's frankly a pain in the butt to be nagged about changing it. "Man, my passwords are 20 random characters. I don't need yo reset ot unless you've had a breach."
No. They'll need to fill out a form online before they go. Europe is only requiring this because the US has forced similar bullshit on Europeans for years cos "terrorism".
This is sort of off topic but the constraints credit card companies put on porn is ridiculous. Cannabis, sadly, is illegal federally. Porn is legal everywhere in the country.
I'd very much support legislation that required payment processors to not discriminate against any firm provided the business transaction is legal.
What? No. The authoritarian right and left are all about free speech when out of power and all about clamping down on it when they are in power. Both are the same. Both are nasty and authoritarian.
A lot of us are in this boat. I do daily drive Linux but I am very fortunate in that I'm my own boss so I can use whichever computer I want.
And yeah, there is no way to force people to use Signal. It is what it is. Fortunately here in Europe WhatsApp is the default messaging app. It is at least better than SMS for UA non-iPhone people.
