Infinity is not too bad right now, I am replying from it right now. My only real issue with it is that I can't see whether people have responded to my posts/comments.
I prefer Liftoff, mainly because I am plagued by a well-known bug in jerboa that makes writing comments a big pain. However, since infinity got semi usable (it still has a bunch of references to reddit in its ui and the messages/replies page is broken) I have only used liftoff to check for replies. I am just used to infinity from years of reddit usage lol
If we are talking gaming (which by no means is a niche market), nvidia absolutely dominates the GPU market. The steam survey reports a market share of 75% for nvidia gpus
I'm typing this from an unrooted xiaomi phone with lineage for microg where I can use banking apps. The only downside is having to connect to a computer every time I install an update.
I should probably post this as an issue on github but pressing the "Enable using Shizuku" doesn't seem to do anything whatsoever - am I supposed to get some kind of UI feedback? Shizuku is running, but even after pressing the button it still shows that there are 0 links that are opened in Lemmy redirect
let's hope the 1 year exclusivity is from the release of the first episode rather than the release of the last one. To be fair, I don't hate the epic launcher and have bought a few games there, but being an epic exclusive reduces the possibility for the game becoming cheaper quickly and there's very few games I am willing to spend even 40 Euros for.
I think you are underestimating your TV, as long as it detects that the content is 24 fps it should have no trouble playing it back judder free.
Other than that, I thought about it some more, and I think I'm fine with a bit of judder. On a big TV I find it really annoying but on a smaller screen I can probably see past it. Sound-wise I will mainly use my bluetooth iems so I don't really need good speakers. So now I am trying to get a tab s5e at a decent price, but weirdly most listings start at 200 Euros, which I don't think I'm willing to spend on an more than 4 year old device. Oh well, we will see how it goes.
I don't know where this rumour about a cease and desist comes from, the dolphin devs have said that this did not happen. They did cite the DMCA, though, so I guess you could see this as a legal threat.
Edit: okay, the rumour comes from an earlier blog post by the devs where they do claim that, but they are reverting that statement
There weren't any legal threats by Nintendo over dolphin. Valve approached Nintendo asking "are you cool if we distribute a GameCube & Wii emulator on our platform?" And unsurprisingly, Nintendo said no.
That's very kind :) HDR would be nice but Jellyfin does a good job at tone mapping to SDR when transcoding so it's not a deal breaker. Can you actually tell the difference between judder-free and judder 24 fps playback? I think many people can't, but unfortunately I am one of the people who are annoyed by judder. If you can, which one is it on the S5e?
I have switched from manjaro to endeavouros about a month ago. I definitely prefer endeavouros. However, the kernel install GUI in manjaro was nice, made it very easy to get an overview of the available kernels and which ones are still getting support.
I mean, even if alien sightings were real you would expect them to correlate with population density. Fewer people means fewer people that can spot aliens.
