How do names of countries get translated? What is the reason why Nippon/Nihon is called Japan or Ellada is called Greece in English?

  • I have been noticing this more and more lately. Also as the gaps between posts gets larger the more posts I see repeated.

  • Blocking a community does not remove it from the current refresh of your feed, you will need to refresh. There can also be multiple iterations of the same community inn multiple instances. Such as memes on Lemmy ml, and Lemmy world etc.
