My local healthy grocer (for lack of a better name) has "potato" chips made with veggie based ingredients like lentil flour, garbanzo bean flour, etc. Same is true for pasta.
Also, from personal experience, get one of those rubber horse heads and make up an alter ego that talks about how much they looooove veggies and how carrots are their favorite food. You can have a friend or family member do it, but if "Veggie Vincent the Healthy Horse" shows up enough times and talks about all the healthy, delicious things we can eat to grow big and strong like him, it's a step in the right direction, not to mention fun for everyone involved. :D
I'd be active in there. So many companies hide their pricing and gimmicks so you don't know until you start using it. There's few advertisements for useful unshittifying tools like RES or the one that fixes Facebook, tools that let you download Instagram photos, etc. Free alternatives like grrrrmin which can generate strava-likeheatmaps from your Garmin data can also be hard to find. Lemmy has been good for this, as Reddit once was. There are a lot if things that are only usable to me after extensive unshittifying.
I switched from Spotify when they cut my family off of my plan because some of them don't always live with me. I like Tidal a lot, but wish it was easier for me to share a song with friends who don't use it. Ironically, I don't think any family members but my dad actually use my Tidal plan, so basically I just switched out of spite.
I had to do all the same things on my work computer. If MS could stop shitting all over my taskbar that would be an amazing expression of basic decency. I'm about to go to IT and ask for a Linux computer that I can test with my day to day tools to make sure everything works. Typically only a few devs have them and those of us in support roles are on Windows. Microsoft is literally sapping away the time and effort my employer has paid me to put towards their customers. I use Linux at home and it has none of these problems. Actually, the worst problem I've had in years was a broken package that I simply uninstalled and re-added from a different source.
Same unfortunate story with Google News, lots of articles that I cant actually read. On Facebook I filter out URLs that paywall their articles so the stories are hidden, but I don't use Facebook more than once a month or so and nearly every chum bucket news aggregator out there does this.
That's what I use. Didn't want to influence your decision, but there's no harm in revealing it after the fact. I do feel like I missed out on some cool features from the other apps I tried, but Eternity was the complete package.
There is no best. My recommendation is to download a bunch, then uninstall them one by one until you end up with the one that you like best. I settled on my favorite, and I had to give up some great apps with great features to get there. What do you value in a forum-style app?
The Walgreen's near me sometimes lists prices in points. Companies use these rewards programs to muddy the waters of who has the best deal. They want you to buy their produce even if they're more expensive because you've already bought into their rewards program. Its easy to say, Bob and Jim are selling the same product but Bob is $5 cheaper. But if Jim has a rewards program where you get compounding discounts over time as you buy more from them, it becomes real hard to do the math about who is really cheaper in the long run. It should be absolutely illegal or at least heavily regulated because its not only anti consumer, but undermines the free market by allowing companies to "lock down" customers with long term savings that can change over time. A free market makes it easy for consumers to make choices, not harder.
Germany does Kindergeld which translates to "kid money". Of course Germans don't want to have kids as much. Many Americans don't know what birth control is or how to use it (someone else on this thread is solving that issue). I absolutely believe that you should be able to take as much time as you need to ensure your kids grow up well. Plus, some kids are harder than others.
I would start a community space with a dance hall, coffee shop, bike shop, maker space, brewery, and library centered on an urban trail to show people you can go places and do worthwhile things without an automobile. I'd include parking for cargo bikes, trikes and hand bikes, along with upright bikes and chargers for electric bikes. My hope being that the model would spread to other cities and higher density residential developments would spring up around it. Obviously my UBI wouldn't cover that no matter how generous it was, so step one would be to use my extra time to get buy in from like minded neighbors.

You heard what I meant and I appreciate that. It was poorly phrased and I wish I had explained the theoretical better.
I qualified it with the "naturally industrious" thing because I wanted people to talk about what they'd do after they slept off the drudgery of current capitalism not immediately upon finding out they don't have to go to work anymore just to survive and have basic amenities. As you stated, I could have also phrased in an equally bad way where everyone just pointed at their job and said "I have no time or energy". That's the problem. I was trying to filter out the "If I had UBI, I would smoke weed and eat potato chips all day" answers.
If I had phrased my question as, "if you had a guaranteed income and were able to use 40hrs a week of your time to make the world a better place, what would you do?" That would have been better.
Good point, if people are inclined to be child-free, we should celebrate that and support them, not nag them every Christmas and ask when they're gonna have kids, also it's what allows others to have kids without contributing as much to overpopulation. It also means kids end up with parents who actually wanted kids. I'm totally on board with this.
I left it open ended specifically so they could target their time how they wish. I know several disabled people who all contribute to my communities in various impactful ways, some without ever leaving the home. Having said that, my question could have been phrased better.
I bought my first handheld anything, the Palm Zire 31 in high school. Everyone thought I was weird, but I was also organized. :P
