  • I mean like 2/5 of BRICS is currently actively involved in genocide so maybe they should pause for a hot minute and look in the mirror.

Also I know the current South African government has nothing to do with the government 30 years ago, but something about ZA calling out an apartheid state just seems ironic.

  • Apple has been very specific that they won't be using Google's version of RCS, they'll be implementing the spec and then leaving it up to your carrier.

In the US most carriers do use Google's implementation but your carrier can already send your unblockable SMS messages.

  • AFAIK Apple has said they are only going to use official RCS spec with no extensions and will work on adding encryption to the spec. Google has announced that they will work with Apple and the GSMA to implement official RCS encryption.

  • That was me, I live in the tropics near the mountains where you can go from 42⁰ at crazy humidity near sea level to 15⁰ up around 2000m in about an hour's drive. I lived near sea level and when we were kids we'd meet halfway with friends who lived in the mountains. They'd be running around in just swimsuits and I'd be sitting on the side wearing 3 layers.

  • I mean I'm mostly German but don't really celebrate it. A: I don't feel at all German. B: there's a bit of history surrounding Germans even though none of my ancestors were in the country for any of that. C: I'm already the dominant culture/race where I was born. What would I be celebrating? That I'm the same as everyone else? We could have a big cookout where we celebrate our culture by eating the same food we eat every day, wearing the same clothes we wear every day, etc. Oh wait this is already every get together...
