….
Im talking about lemmy servers. Calling lemmy instances servers. I don’t care what people call discord servers im saying they already call them servers. So people will understand what a lemmy server is because they already know what a discord server is and the concept is similar enough they will immediately understand how lemmy servers work and can still communicate with one another.
I think $5 a month is reasonable especially if it means a good alternative to google exists. But yeah having to sign in sucks and it should be free but I definitely don’t want ads on a search engine. I wish they would open source at least.
Yeah an option for both would be great. Free and pay what you want with the option of recurring donations. Would be great if it wasnt only for music like how itch has games and software and zines
We really need platforms in the open source / fedi space that allows artists to get paid. It shouldn’t be hyper focused on making momey but if we don’t have ethical spaces people can making money/careers we will keep being reliant on these services run by VCs etc.
A fediverse Patreon style software should be a huge priority imo
Server is the best term. It’s the most accurate and it’s already understood by the masses because of discord servers. Especially since people know anyone’s can create their own discord server and still talk with anyone rose on discord (through dms or visiting their server) so it makes it really easy to understand the fediverse and lemmy if we just call them servers
Hopefully they had backups elsewhere. This is why piracy apps need to at least try a little to not make their github so obviously a piracy app.
I hope @MonetarySqueeze@lemmy.dbzer0.com updates reiverr to use open source movies from the blender studio for the images/gifs so it can be passed off as a media app for non piracy related streaming
I like arctic a lot but I feel like its difficult to tell things apart. the posts in the feed don’t have enough breathing space. So its hard to open a thread by clicking under the article. The title and text are the same color when you’ve read the thread. The comments don’t have different color bars to easily notice whats replying to what like Apollo had. The community and user and the text under it are all the same grey.
Other than that I just newd a skip to next comment button that can be placed in the center and I’ll switch from Avelon.
This is awesome! Could we use this to subscribe to a post to receive updates on edits and new comments?
