  • JS/TS cause it's my job and easy quite fast to write code in it, so it's good for quick prototypes (or when I want to go dirty). Rust for when I want to write something actually good. It has a better ecosystem, building tools, and the DX is much better compared to C++ which is just an eldritch clusterfuck where dreams die

  • It was my final exam. Everyone , including the president (or whatever it’s called), but one said I was great and all, and we were chilling talking about my future. I said I wanted to get a CS degree, to which my math teacher replied with “People like you can only be good as carpenters”

EDIT: just to point out, I got the highest grade lol

  • Yes, great. Except that OP didn’t ask for that

  • @sahrizv: 2014 - We must adopt #microservices to solve all problems with monoliths. 2016 - We must adopt #docker to solve all problems with microservices. 2018 - We must adopt #kubernetes to solve all problems with docker

Now everything is a microservice, even when it doesn't need to be.

And then there is the whole noSql debacle, where relational projects reinvent the wheel every time with nosql and for some reason that is thought to be smart

  • it was. I'm not the smartest person alive so it checks out

  • nah, awesomeWM

  • I mean, I guess that was the payoff. Imagine the stakes while the episode air, you think nukes are going to explode but they see that if they fired that they would get destroyed too in the process and decide to make peace

And then, slowly but inevitably, their rule crumble

  • ... my point being, if "as many as possible" is a low percentage then the first panel is right isn't it?

  • Were it so easy. Take for example Italy, there is no way to use bikes and public transports: bike will get you killed since nobody here see value in bike lanes - when they do, they fuck it up somehow - and public transportations works/exists only in big cities.

  • My first job was remote too, my second one too, yet now I find harder to find a remote job… am I cursed?
