  • you can use free public bridges like https://t2bot.io/discord/ where you invite it to the discord server and to a matrix room then run commands to link them, if you want DM's you'll need to either host it yourself or pay a provider to host it for you and it'll have to be a puppeted bridge which is against discord ToS just FYI

  • how and why is OMEMO better? and you cant verify all of a users sessions at once that they have verified them selves via cross signing

And it doesn't solve all the same problems, what if the server the muc was created on goes down? Matrix doesn't have that issue

  • synapse is the first and most used server implementation written in python, conduit is a HS imp written in rust not by the matrix.org team so synapse isnt being rewritten in rust, some bits are being rustified but not much it seems, there is dendrite which was originally meant to replace synapse as the HS imp to scale really well, but they they changed the priorities for that to p2p and small instances

  • No, you can set limits on how much bandwidth you want it to use when you setup java I2P it goes through a introduction and tests your Internet speed and asks how much of it you want to give to I2P

  • BiglyBT handles all of the I2P router itself if you don't have a existing install, you can point it to an existing I2P install if you have one that's running 24/7 so is well integrated which is what I do
