They don't implement the same encryption as signal OMEMO uses the double ratchet system that signal uses that's it

It's much more then just that they harden it even more and have great features like contact and storage scopes where apps only get access to what you give them and you can fully block apps from connecting to the Internet by denying the Internet permission at install those are just the privacy enhancements https://grapheneos.org/features for all they do to improve security

No they don't, matrix has partial forward security, it does rotate the keys for messages, not for every message, but it does rotate them for all users in an encrypted room if a user has a new login so that session can't read past messages until it gets keys shared by verifying with another session, same for when a user joins the room and maybe leaves the room

From what I've seen his staff also "bully" him as well, to me it looks like casual ribbing each other that friends do, I could be wrong

what exactly do you want from PFS that element doesnt do? the keys are rotated every so often and when a new session is logged into, so that new session cant read past messages unless it gets keys from other sessions

element web supports sliding sync in labs, not beta's I dont think its been touched in ages so its going to be rougher then ele x clients

its not me not being bothered, its just annoying having to create an account for 1 issue I'll probably never use again so its a waste of time

its very much wanted, I dont want to have to create new accounts on every gitlab instance for all different projects like KDE, GNOME and others when I want to report a bug or something

They are talking about when you join a channel with your client there is 0 chat history in the client

Yeah never consider public rooms to be private, who knows whether there is a bit logging every message sent or whatnot

If they hosted their own XMPP server and that got taken down by the DDOS attacks the room/MUC would be down as well, not ideal, unlike matrix

No media support and closing the client and you DC from the channel, not ideal for modern use cases such as being on mobile devices or a laptop on a train and your connection drops while you go through a tunnel
