  • The world listens to him. Listens to him more than anyone else in the entire world. He's the most listened to in the entire world. By the way he's a rapist, pedophile, and convicted felon but you wouldn't know that just by looking at him. You just wouldn't know that. But it's true.

  • Obligatory- refrigerators don't keep your food THAT cold and bacteria can start growing on it generally in just 4 hours if it isn't opened. So unless you know the exact time it died, or you know the internal temperature when you open it, then better to play it safe than risk getting sick

  • Most people just want to be able to roll dice and have fun with friends. Some will also enjoy the roleplaying. As a DM you just need to show up and have some resemblance of a plan or willingness to let them go off the rails and make shit up. That's all that a "good" DM is.

And if anyone ever expects you to be matt fucking Mercer then tell they better be sam riegel or gtfo.

  • If you're creating a community to sexualize something then lemmynsfw would be the best place for it imo unless there is already an instance for that topic (furry, anime, etc). It has nothing to do with how popular or commonplace a thing like bikinis are.

Personally one of the things i love about lemmy is that there's a lot less objectifying women on my /all than reddit because a lot of these 'bikini' (and similar) communities are mostly under a single instance which can be defederated.

  • Management doesn’t seem to correlate the RTO rules as the problem though. 🙃

It's not that management doesn't correlate. It's that they planned for RTO to diminish the workforce and then they can start hiring (offshore*) remote workers for a fraction of the cost. At least that's what my company did

  • He has already hobbled the organizations that oversee his companies/interests/etc. He can say whatever he wants but for all we know this is just a planned exit.

I'll be glad if he does step down but he has already caused unrepairable damage.

  • Developers make software because they want to, or because they are paid to.

Consumers can use free software because it fits their needs, or they can pay for software if the free options don't suffice.

Consumer demand for paid software drives paid software development.

You claim to be an open source developer, cool. There are people who are not developers who can't contribute code but still want software. Sometimes that software needs to be paid because some free options aren't "there" yet. Yes they could pay or donate to open source developers, but they can also tell a company they want to pay for linux software which is what this thread is about, in a community that isn't focused on open source software

  • She's the rep that is leading bathroom bans for trans individuals which is the only reason i know who she is. Well, and using a trans slur.

You bring good information about the context, but i assume he's asking about an actual town hall because some reps are ejecting people for dissenting opinions, or only inviting Republicans. I couldn't find any information about her recent town halls other than i saw one county request a town hall which she declined so idk what she is or isn't doing to represent her people but you've got this guy and other people asking about town halls from her. Intent aside, I think it's a fair question and politicians are supposed to handle these situations instead of escalating them. I'm not even a politician but i can be polite to someone for more than 1 minute even if i think they're full of shit

  • To play devils advocate: please name me an entire open source list of alternatives for each part of affinity studio/adobe suite.

For bonus points, all programs should be mutually agreed by other people as "the best not Adobe" and for extra extra points, they should all be part of a studio package for ease of installation for creatives

Now if someone made these demands in an open source thread they'd probably get a new asshole ripped open for being entitled with such requirements for free software. Instead, someone is saying they'd pay for affinity Linux software that meets this criteria but youre telling them to use open source which is not helpful.

Don't get me wrong, open source is great. I do use gimp but i still need alternatives to affinity studio and it would've made moving to Linux much easier if i could use affinity on Linux.
