At one point they were only keeping the desperate H-1B visa workers. I don’t know if that’s still the case, or how many of those workers are Asian or South Asian, but they might not want to move to whatever anti-woke place Musk wants to put X next.
The failure of democratic checks and balances does not preclude the failure of communist checks and balances as well.
Democratic Socialism is where I’d like the US to head. But we have to start consistently winning majorities so that we can fix the disproportionate representation that’s hurting progress and making electing the progressives needed for change difficult.
The right wing in my mom’s town passed a measure to close one of the fire stations (to lower taxes).
Turns out if the fire response times go above a certain threshold, your homeowners insurance goes up by a lot more than the tax cut (I think it saved a couple hundred dollars a year, and added a couple hundred dollars a month to most home insurance in 1/3 of the town).
Once 1/3 of the town realized it, the measures was repealed before the shutdown could happen.
That’s not what they scare monger about on faux news channels. They make it seem like all cities are full is hoards of group shop lifters that run in and empty a store every damn day.

You don’t need satellites in space to shift GPS, they’ve been messing with it in war zones for years, and AWACS like planes could do it in real time anywhere they won’t get shot down.

I usually try to apply Hanlon’s razor first, but the evidence that they expected covid to be a blue state problem since Boston, San Fransisco, and especially NYC, all had very bad initial outbreaks and high casualties in starting March of 2020, leads me to believe there was malice behind their choices.
He refused to quarantine, wouldn’t wear a goddamn mask, and he thought it was only going to be a blue cities problem so he didn’t care of it spread. He wanted covid to kill off blue (but probably real black and brown people who didn’t vote for him).
When they realized it was killing Floridians he pushed UV enemas, horse dewormer and injecting or drinking bleach.
That’s way more than being some kind of passive idiot.
Yeah combined with the disproportionate representation that the small population/empty states get, and the electoral college, they’re likely to remain a threat unless and until we can get rank choice voting and interstate popular vote compact working.
Still not close to as creepy s as Trump and Vance are on a daily/hourly basis.
